A/n: Tohru's mom and dad switch places in this fic... Tohru's mom died of pnuemonia shortly after she was born and Tohru's dad died the same way her mom did...(in real world Fruits Basket...yea...so, like, a car crash...) This takes place after Kagura is introduced and Kyo and Tohru are on the roof...
"I don't understand her," said Kyo while stroking his hair. "Marriage or whatever-- it's insane. It doesn't make any sense!"
"I think it's amazing how she could love someone so much. Besides…" started Tohru with a smile, "…getting married is a girl's greatest dream!"
"Hnnn…? Really…? Why…?"
"Well…you see…" Tohru began while twiddling her fingers on her knees, "Maybe it's because we want to be needed, or wanted, by someone… To have someone that we want to be with forever always there, to want someone to share our love with. Anyway, isn't it your dream to beat Sohma-kun? You even ran away to train for it"
As Tohru and Kyo talk about martial arts, I'll fill you in on a conversation that Tohru had with her dad...that the previous conversation happened to remind Tohru of...
--Flashback--
"Tohru, what's your greatest dream?" asked Katsuya, Tohru's father.
"My greatest dream…? To be married!" replied an excitedlittle Tohru, somewhere around the age of five.
"That's quite a dream you have there. What other dreams do you have?" asked Katsuya with a smile.
"Other dreams…" pondered Tohru. "I want to be a parent! Just like you, Papa!"
"Just like me…? Well, I guess you can say that," said Katsuya with a little chuckle. "Normally, mothers are the ones who nurture the children, and fathers are the ones who support the family. Together, they make a team. Heh, heh, but here, I ended up bringing you up like a mother would. Like Kyoko, er, your mother would."
There was a moment of silence...then...
"Papa?"
"Yes, Tohru?"
"After you married Mama, and had me, you became a parent, right?
"Yes."
"So…once you are married, you canbecome a parent…right?"
"Yes, that's right."
"So, Papa?"
"Yes, Tohru?" Katsuya was getting a little uncomfortable with all the questions… Hoping she wouldn't ask--
"Where do babies come from?"

Mehhehheh! The dreaded question for every parent! He probably said 'the stork' or something, judging how Tohru came out...no offense towards Tohru, though! Hmmm, it was a lot better when I originally thought of it...but I didn't write it down...so, slowly...and gradually...I began to forget...and this was what was left...sigh
