'Are you sure you ll be alright?'

'Of course,I will. You know,I had much to go through last days.'

But the man sighed nervously.

'I've just imagined you ll have to spend rest of the night with a...erm...'

'A corpse?'-he was interrupted by the sharp girl s voice. 'I ll be fine. It s my father, after all.'

'So see you tomorrow.'

Douglas car dissolved in darkness. The girl turned and began to rise on steps of Daisy Villa Apartment.

Douglas felt himself nervous...

But he felt something more except nervousness. The feeling mostly reminded fear. However,an old detective would never confessed it to himself. It was just stupid...it all had gone. Damn it,IT HAD GONE!
The tired brain of Douglas Cartland tried to figure out the reason. Suddenly the understanding came to his mind.

Heather had taken her gun with her.

Entering the flat,Heather went straight to hers father's room. She wanted to be sure he was in safe...

'Oh gosh....'

He was dead, but she still couldn't accept that.

'Hi,Dad.I m back.'

She inclined above his bed. She couldn't see Harry's face under the sheet but was sure it still was calm and carefree.

'I'm so sorry. I haven't kept the promise. Claudia's dead, but it wasn't me who killed her.'

She squeezed the pendant in her hand. The most precious thing she ever had in her life. The most beautiful present she ever got from her father. The thing that saved her life.
Even being dead, Harry kept her from death.

However, she didn't know if her life had any value that moment.

Tears began to flow on her face again.

'I'm so weak,Dad. I'm so insignificant. I hadn't been able to take revenge after you. I hadn't been able to help Vincent. I hadn't been able to do anything. Forgive me. And let me do one more thing.'

She lifted the gun and set it to the stomach. She didn't even hear a shot or pain after it, her mind was filled by a fog.

The sheet impregnated with the blood of Harry Mason started quickly to absorb the blood of Heather Mason.

'Oh yeah.I'm not Heather anymore. I'm Cheryl.'

Before her lips were taken by a cramp of death, she had had time to whisper:

'Daddy...'
