Progress
"Go home Ianto," Jack instructed, his voice full of kindness. "It's been a long day today."
"I was on my way out, sir," Ianto lied.
"How many times have I told you, you can drop the 'sir' now…it's Jack to you. It's always just Jack."
As Jack returned to his office, below in the Hub, there was a mouse-like shuffling of papers, the fading hum of a computer and the flick of a light switch.
"Goodnight, Just Jack!" came the now distant call.
"Goodnight Ianto!" Jack replied, laughing.
He rose from his seat to watch the young Welshmen leave. Sipping the warm mug of coffee Ianto had made, Jack smiled to himself.
Well at least we're making progress now he thought.
