She absolutely could not believe it! Her first friend! Of course, she had talked to the wonderful creatures that her parents had taught her about, but sometimes … Sometimes you just needed human interaction.
The girl was about her age, with flaming red hair and inquisitive brown eyes, with a smattering of freckles across her cheeks and nose. Her name was Ginny, and just loved over the hill with 6 older brothers!
Luna was ecstatic! She had someone to play in the stream with, and to run down the hills, and climb trees. While Ginny had someone to just be girly with sometimes, or even to just fly around on a broom without having to worry about having a ball thrown at her.
Yes, Luna made her first friend, and it almost - almost - took away some of the pain that losing her mother had brought her.
