He spent months, years searching. He needed to save her, to get her off the island, he promised. He promised they'd do it together, but that didn't work. To be honest, he didn't even know she was still on the island till Sun told him. He thought she died in the boat bomb.

November 11, it's a Saturday the day he finds the island.

His boat, well okay Penny's, spots land. And he remembers practically flying down the steps of the boat. He runs to the side of the boat and staring, it seems almost wrong to see the island. There's no specific thing to separate this island from all the other islands he has seen but inside, he knows. He knows.

The captain doesn't want the boat to go to close, so Jack gets into the smaller boat and remembers paddling into shore. All he could think about was seeing her. He reaches the shore, and he sees Sawyer.

"Well well well. The doc's back." Sawyer said, as he walked towards Jack. It should have been weird that Sawyer embraces him in a hug, but somehow its not. Sawyer pulls back, "How is she?" he asks.

Jack knows who he is talking about, and looks away for a moment as guilt hits him. But then he looks back and lies, "She's great." He hasn't talked to her in over a year, but he knows that he did the right thing when Sawyer nods and smiles. "How is she?" Jack asks.

"Juliet's fine." Sawyer said, as guilt hits him. He's never had regrets about sleeping with someone, but he does. He remembers when he swam onshore and found Juliet drinking rum, he remembers drinking with her staring at the smoke. Then it's a blur until the next morning when he woke up next to her naked.

"Where is she?" Jack asks.

"Come on." Sawyer leads Jack back to the houses. Sawyer nods to the house and Jack thanks him.

Knock knock knock.

It sounds weird to her; most people just knock once then come in. She goes to the door and opens it. There he is and she turns around and pinches herself. She doesn't wake up so she turns back around. "What are you doing here?"

"I promised I would get you off the island."

Juliet looks into his eyes and sees the hope. "Things are different, Jack."

"So you don't want to get off the island?"

"No I do. It's just," she doesn't know how to explain this to him. It's been five years here, so she says just that. "Jack. It's been five years."

"No, its been three."

Oh, the time difference. She never quite understood that. "Well, its been five here," she said.

"Mommy," She hears a scream. Juliet turns around just as a bundle of blond curls jumps up at Juliet.

"Jack, this is Emma."
