Music Heart

"Seguchi Tohma-san. I'm fine. Really. Stop worrying so much."

He sighed. "Coby Love. Stop arguing with me."

She looked at him with determined wind in her eyes. "I'm going to perform as the back-up singer and back-up keyboardist of Bad Luck."

"I regret telling you the fact that you need to be prepared to sing and play the keyboard for the band, no matter what. You're hardheaded."

She grinned. "Thank-you. I'm glad to be known for stubbornness."

"That's sometimes not something to be proud of."

"Stuff it."

"I'm serious. I'm not allowing you to perform as the back-up singer and back-up keyboardist for Bad Luck in your condition. You can be immature and pout all you want. It's for your own good."

She approached the stage.

He hurried up and pulled her back. "You're making a mistake."

She pulled forward against his hold. "Let me go! Jeez!"

"I'm not letting go. You've got a temperature of thirty-nine degrees Celsius."

"Let go before I fall!"

He let go.

She glared at him with tears in her eyes. Then, there was an abrupt, loud smack, followed by, "You jerk! Don't touch me!"

Tohma gently touched his stinging cheek with his fingertips. He stared at the girl who stood before him and noticed tears fell from her eyes, slid down her cheeks and slipped off her chin. He realized the situation went from bad to worse.

She took her cell phone out of the purse that hung on her arm. She flipped her cell phone open and dialed a number. "I'm calling my boyfriend and I'm telling him to pick me up."

Tohma gently flipped the cell phone shut. He felt that when he pulled her back, he may have set off an alarm inside her that caused her to think he was about to touch her in a perverted manner. He thought maybe she didn't like her first kiss and maybe she had been touched in places she'd rather not have been and maybe she only trusted the guys in her family, her boyfriend and the guys she felt wouldn't do those things to her. This may explain why she slapped him and yelled at him after all he did was pull her back. He strongly felt it none of his business and that she would be flaming mad at him if he brought up the topic.

She sighed. "Fine. I give up."

He gave her a concerned look. "You're not going to battle anymore?"

She dropped to her knees and closed her eyes. "This is too much."

"Hey!" He didn't care if she slapped him and yelled at him. He didn't want her to fall and hit her head. He caught her in his arms and lowered himself to the floor and she leaned on him. "You're going to get hurt if you allow yourself to fall like that."

"I apologize for slapping you and yelling at you."

He smiled as he said, "You possess quite the music heart."

She smiled in response.

"Stubborn, silly child."

Her surroundings went black.

"Coby?"

She didn't respond.

To him, she appeared so tiny and so fragile. She looked like a little girl no more than ten years old, maybe younger.

Hikari Maiden: Thirty-nine degrees Celsius is about one-hundred-and-two degrees Fahrenheit. I hope you enjoyed reading this and thank-you. Please, review.
