This is just a poem Dan may have written about Serena in the second season. After all Poppy told her to, "Let your light shine, Serena." Based off their Hampton beach reunion.

Dan wrote a poem about Serena in season two. This is kind of abstract, but I imagine that is how Dan writes. Inspired by their Hampton's beach reunion.

Disclaimer: I don't own Gossip Girl. Dan wouldn't name his stories after dates if I did.

Illuminations

You are the lustrous light.

You alleviate me from the dismal dusk of night

And you rescue me from the despondency in life.

You aid vessels in their long journeys,

Across the seas and their hardships

And as the sun sets you are there.

Then the moon brings forth calmness of twilight

And it brings back beams

That dance off waves of the twisting ocean.

In the gloomy gusts along the seashore

Your light shines ever so radiantly,

As I gaze into the vastness of it all

You pierce the darkness;

Making water glow and shimmer

As if glistening sapphires danced with diamonds.

Then I contemplate all your wonders

And beauty.

You are the lustrous light.
