A story inspired by a situation fo mine. Somehow though, I don't think it will end up like this story :P
A dedication to another unnamed friend.
He began his walk to the gate, hiding the smile that tried to escape to his lips.
It's been what, a year, maybe even two? He thought, yawning to make him seem uninterested.
I wonder if she's changed, or if she's still the same troublesome woman as always.
He stopped walking and the smile that tried so hard to come out would never have a chance to do so.
What if she has changed, and its a change I can't handle? Or worse, she ends up thinking it's me who has changed, and it's something she can't handle.
Temari was bound to be there by now, and he had already started off as being late. All this thinking would make Shikamaru's case even worse.
He shook his head. "I'm just being paranoid," he said aloud.
Then he stopped again. He thought of the letters they had been sending to one another. She did seem to be a different person on paper, a lot calmer, more nicer, and seemed sweeter too.
Shikamaru didn't think he could handle a clam, nice, and sweet Temari.
Would that mean she'd expect me to be sweet, calm. and nice as well?
He laughed to himself for even thinking that. I didn't change my personality or language when I did any writing to her.
The smile faded. Did I?
All that thinking made him distracted from knowing that he had approached the gate.
"Still got your head in the clouds?"
The voice put him back into reality. "Nice to see you too."
She grinned. "Miss me?"
Shikamaru smirked. "Just a bit."
She chuckled.
"You know, you're about 20 minutes later than you should have been," Temari said.
Shikamaru shrugged.
She rolled her eyes. "Lazy-ass. You still haven't changed."
He smiled, comfort written on his face.
"You haven't either."
End.
