Cherry Blossoms

By Keiji-Munch

Gently falling to the ground

While you hear a festive round

The lightest pink on the gentle breeze

Floating them through autumn with ease

Drums do play to signal the start

For the gathering of the evening part

The parade starts with a flare

For festive play without a care

Hear the music played into night

For the season's passage right

To hear the owls take flight

As children scream out in fright

This is the festival of the blossoms

When many utter their awesomes

Blossoms are crushed under foot

While others are pressed in a book

Paper hats and masks galore

While paper lanterns shimmer in the door

Songs can be heard from every tavern

While large cups of sake weigh down the bladder
