I sighed happily as I set down my small bag of items from Dr. Finkelstein's laboratory on the floor of my new bedroom, or to my true delight, mine and Jack's bedroom. It had taken quite some time for the doctor to give in to mine and Jack's pleas to let me move in with my beloved. But he finally caved and it only took me minutes to pack and rush out of there.

Suddenly, I was snapped out of my thoughts by a scream. No, not an actual scream but Jack's doorbell scream. I rushed down the stairs, hoping to be able to reach the door so Jack wouldn't have to, when I felt a hand snake around my waist. I looked up and saw my dearest Jack looking down at me. My breath caught as he smiled his classic skeleton grin and took my hand to lead me to the door.

Before the door was even fully opened the mayor sprung in, happy face and all. He turned to look at us and finished his humming before he talked.

"Jack, I am so delighted to tell you that there is going to be a meeting tonight about some fresher Halloween ideas. You will be joining us, yes?" The mayor inquired.

Jack's grin sunk a little as he turned to look at me. "Mayor, I would be thrilled to join you, but tonight just isn't a good night."

"Oh," The mayor's happy face stayed even though his voice was coated with disappointment. "Ok, I will let the others know. I will be seeing you later then." He started heading towards the door, going back to his humming.

Jack followed him to the entranceway before waving and shutting the door. He sighed and walked back over to me, embracing me in a hug

"Why did you do that?" I asked against his chest as he pulled away and took my hand again. I looked up at him and saw his expression as slightly confused.

"Do what?" He asked."

"Decline a meeting. You always go to those." I said throwing up my other hand in emphasis as we walked back into the bedroom.

"Oh," he chuckled, "I wanted to stay here with you tonight. Seeing how it is your first night living with me."

My head went light again as it always did whenever I thought about being able to live in the same house as my dear Jack. My already larger grin spread wider as I thought about it.

"You're so sweet, Jack." I said. However since I was so overwhelmed my words came out as mere whispers.

"Not as sweet as you, Sal." He moved in close to me and I felt his hard lips on the top of my head. We stood there in silence for a moment, with his arms around me as I leaned into him, before he straightened up and moved forward. "Well let's get you all set in and then we'll get some dinner, hmm?"

I nodded in agreement as I grabbed my bag and set it on the bed. I started taking out extra clothes and dresses when I felt him behind me and his arms reached forward to help me unpack, his chin resting on my head the whole time.

I smiled as I thought, Nothing could possibly go wrong now.
