Cheer Up

The warm rays of the sun shine down, warming the already heart-melting smiles of children as they run from jungle-gym to jungle-gym. Laughter, as sweet as a melody spun by nature, rides on the breeze blowing through the small park. From the grass filled area stretches a long, sandy shore of the whitest grains, shimmering like crystals in the sunlight. Clear blue water pulls up the shore, rolling over toes that curl into the wet sand. Legs are pulled tight against the chest, arms wrapping around the knees and forehead resting against the white, cotton sleeves. Azure eyes are glazed, tears still glistening at the brims as the head of light brown rises. A shaky sigh breaks past his lips, swollen from the past few days where he's bitten at them, a terrible habit that he gets when upset.
His best friend had fallen ill, dieing a couple days after without notice, leaving him grief stricken and sick with crying so much. He didn't know what to do or how to think...much less move on from the tragedy. No one was there for h-...okay...he had to admit that there was one person. The man had tried to talk to him, being a dear friend of him during the past few years in college. The man had even come to the funeral, more out of respect for him, even though he lingered at the edges, staying out of sight of the actual family. Yet as he remembers the other man, the smallest, albeit it distant, smile tugs at his lips, but disappears before it can be noticed.
The ground sinks behind him, flip-flops of the lightest blue dipping into the sand, followed by knees clad in light brown khakis. A baby-blue, button up shirt, with a wide neck, hangs loosely on his sturdy shoulders, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Dark brown locks are loosely pulled back, short strands hanging down on the right side of his face. Dog tags, from his time in the service of war, droops from a silver chain, the cool metal resting against beautifully, sun-kissed skin. Misty, green eyes stay locked onto he smaller figure before him, Laguna having developed a soft spot for the young man.
He reaches forward, strong arms looping around the younger brunet's waist, lifting him up easily onto his lap. Sitting there on the sand, he rests his head against the others, a smile on his lips. "Cheer up Sora, you still have me."
A soft laugh comes from dry and cracked lips, Sora tilting his head back against Laguna's chest, eyes bright with trust. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
Laguna leans his head down, pressing their lips together softly, testing the waters of the others' feelings. Finding it safe, they both deepen the kiss against the others lips, Laguna pulling back too soon as a thought strikes him. He reaches back behind his neck and within a second, has his task complete. Looping it over in front of Sora, Laguna clamps the necklace back together, letting his dog tags now rest against Sora's chest.
The sadness washed away by love, always ready to return, Sora leans back against Laguna, enjoying the sun as it slowly drifts down, appearing as though it's sinking into the ocean, leaving colors of orange and pink to paint across the once blue sky. Laguna keeps his arms wrapped around the smaller man, not once loosening his grip as he places a peck against chestnut spikes, a smile lingering on his countenance and happiness thriving in his chest, happy that he could make the other relax, if only for a moment.

Because I love Jellybean very, very much and he's such an amazing friend, sticking through it all with me, I made him a little Easter Egg. xD It's not as sweet as chocolate or Sephiroth in a cheerleading outfit, but it's such a cute, cracky, little pairing.
Enjoy and Happy Easter~!~!~!
