A.N. Hey strangers! So, ive been gone for a long while, and I cant even begin to explain how much has gone on in the last year or so and how much my life has changed. Ive ended up somewhere I never thought id be back, and with things I never thought I would have. Some aspects are the most wonderful, and some the most terrible.
But it got me thinking. And I have just been sooooo desperate to write again. Hopefully I will be able to keep this up because simply typing this note is making me feel amazing!
So, to the best of my knowledge I haven't written a HIMYM fic yet, which is scandalous. My OTP is Robin/Barney, and I knew the first fic I started now would have to be this idea that has been spinning around in my head for a short while.
Here goes. I hope you like it!
For the third time that afternoon, Barney Stinson clutched at the ends as he ripped open the wrapper of a Cadbury's Flake. The sun was shining brightly in the New York sky, but there was a distinct chill in the air. Quite literally, but also figuratively.
A dark cloud hung over the usually bouncy blonde as he dipped the Flake into his ice cream, drenched in tangy sherbet and sweet raspberry sauce. His mind became a sunken ship as he remembered Robin Scherbatsky, his best friend, was leaving today for a trip to England. She had just been offered a presenting job on a breakfast show over there and was taking part in a trial period. If she enjoyed it, and the viewers liked her, there was a possibility she would be staying for good.
"But you can come and visit me, and ill be back to visit you as often as I can!" he recalled her saying. Pfft, like that was good enough.
Speaking of whom, there she was, rounding the corner next to the pretzel stand. She really was a treat for the eyes. Her dark hair was tied up in a bun, with a few loose strands around her face. She wore a plum lipstick to match the purple tunic, with white leggings to show off her incredible legs. As she was wearing sandals, Barney could see Robin was wearing the toe ring he bought her last Christmas. Without giving away the price, he had had to sell his blue Armani suit to pay for that.
As she spotted him, she smiled suggestively. He knew she knew what she was doing. She knew how much he was drawn to her, and how much she made him shine. However, unbeknown to him, she was much more drawn to him. Robin revolved around Barney as the earth revolved around the sun. Know need to let him in on this secret though… don't want to give Barney Stinson the impression the earth revolves around him.
As Barney watched Robin move towards him, looking sexier with every step, she tripped… and landed on the pretzel cart.
A.N. So? I know it was short, but it's the first thing ive written in a long time and I wanted to make sure the beginning chapter held the scope and feel of the entire story without giving to much away. Hopefully you like it, but however you feel about this, let me know in a review! xoxo
