Maybe if I had been more selfish

You would have stayed

Maybe if I had cried my heart out

You would have held me

Maybe if I had begged you not to leave me

You would have whispered to me words of 'comfort'

Maybe if I had shouted words of anger

You would have flinched

Maybe if I had reminded you of our children

You would have reconsidered

Maybe if I had said 'I love you'

You would have turned back and never left me again

Except,

I wasn't selfish

So you left

I didn't cry out my sorrow

So you didn't hold me

I didn't beg

So you didn't comfort me

I didn't shout harmful words

So you didn't flinch

I didn't remind you of our children

So you didn't reconsider

And I didn't tell you that I loved you

So you did leave me, except this time--

You never came back

So maybe I'm a fool for thinking you could ever love me

Maybe I'm a fool for thinking you had changed

Until one rainy day rolled around

I found you outside my doorstep

Begging to be held

Begging me not to leave

Begging me to comfort you

Begging me to shout at you

Begging me to love you

But why would I do that?

When I already do

And that's something that will never change

A/N - I don't know about you lot but if he had done that to me I would have hit him before I let him come back...Verrrrrry hard

I intended to stop after 'You never came back' but I couldn't brong myself to, it seems like all the stuff I write Tifa never has a happy ending.
