The Shock Treatment:
The Dark Tournament was finally over, but the hellish realization still remained...Genkai was dead, and there was no way to reverse it. The Rekai Tentei walked solemnly back to their rooms, recalling and treasuring every moment they had ever spent with the physic.
However it was visible to see that no one was more affected by this then the usually cheerful ferry girl; when it is said usually that was no understatement. Botan had now lived up to her name: the 'grim' reaper.
The days passed and they were allowed to stay on the island a little longer. While the others began to gradually heal, it was Botan that was still in the heavy state of depression, this worried a certain red-head.
'Will she ever recover?' was the thought that constantly raced through his head, worrying about his secret crush. He and the rest had tried many things: cooking, jokes, games, and heck! Koenma had even offered her a break...her expression hadn't changed.
As a final resort Kurama found himself walking to the island doctor, he began to explain his situation. "Hmmmm," the grey haired man said, "What she needs is a deep shock, ma-boy." "Shock?" Kurama repeated his entire way back.
'What could possibly shock her?' he pondered the entire evening, losing a fair amount of his sleep. When he woke up it was just 5:00 A.M. in the morning. Kurama simply sighed deciding to take a walk outside. There he was surprised to see a certain blue-haired deity.
He approached her not steadily, "We're leaving today right." It sounded like more of a statement than a question. It surprised him, he didn't that she had heard him coming. A simple "Yes" was all he said.
All this while she was still staring out into the ocean, her amethyst eyes turned orange by the reflecting light, her hair untied blowing in the wind. He gulped slightly, seeing how much Genkai's death had affected her; she had become a void of emotion.
"Botan," he said his voice shakily. "Hmmm?" was her only response, and before she knew what was going on he was in front of her...only inches apart. Her eyes slightly widened as their lips held for a few tender moments, to his surprise she returned the kiss.
"Botan," he said his voice no longer shaky but perfectly calm and serious, "I love you." with those words Botan smiled the widest that she had ever in her life, she felt tears coming to her eyes, but no longer tears of sadness, but pure joy.
She was done with mourning, she was going to move on with her life...with the man she loved: "I love you too Kurama," she said, and they both hoped that this would never go away.
