Here's just a poem about Èowyn's story throughout Lord of the Rings. Reviews much appreciated!

The Journey of Èowyn

Too long she has waited there

For a spell of some sort to shed away her darkness

And peel back the stone walls of her life

And lease in a meagre gleam of light

Would not some being, be so kind?

And that was when she saw him;

A stately figure raised above her countrymen

High, kingly and handsomely so!

At last a beam of light was cast upon her imprisoned being

But little did she know, it was merely a reflection

Love is blind they say, alas Èowyn was consumed by it so!

Her cold and icy heart was dripping

Only with her admiration

For him

Or so she thought.

The shutters of her conscious congested once again

As she learnt that he had fallen …

And lo' she fell into despair

All hope she thought had been stolen from her grasp

She had never seen or felt such dark days

As the fate of her people hung limply in the balance

Then, the doors of Helms deep opened …

She cast her head up high and how her heart leaped with joy!

He had returned, all faith restored

Or so she thought

The cold, metal helmet was carefully placed upon

Her fair and flaxen head

Each breath she uttered was ragged and sharp

And tears streaked her pale yet warm cheeks

Her heart had been cloven with the force of an Urak Hai's scimitar

He had rejected her

Offering only his p – pi – pity

And un-under-understanding

And lo'

Driven by her unrequited love

She willingly rode to her doom

And proud and honourable one it will be!

She thought

The fell beast loomed before her

Arching its lethal and beastly wings

In a leering and predatory motion

And it emitted its terrible, piercing cry!

Still Èowyn's feet remained planted firmly into the ground

Firm and strong as the roots of a tree

The Witch King raised its mace

And lo' Èowyn dodged its deathly blow

Shattering only her arm but not her heart!

For it was burning stronger than ever!

All fear replaced by sheer, gritty determination!

She arose triumphant

And cast down her enemy before her feet

Plunging her sword into the abyss of darkness

But the Black Breath stroked her

And she fell

Cascading into nothingness …

Many days and nights were spent

Wandering the sparse halls of the Houses of Healing

Physically she was cured

Alas her mind remained tortured with her prolonging sadness

And then he moved up to her

Spoke to her

Learned about her

And he loved her

Gentle Faramir placed his hand upon her shoulder

And they both looked east

Èowyn's heart was beginning to sew up the cuts of despair

And the bruises of hurt were ebbing away

An empty, desolate space that had been caved away by sadness

Was brimmed now with her love for him

Faramir

Her Faramir

And thus he kissed her passionately upon the high walls of the gardens

And what a splendid sight they were!

For Èowyn had found her peace

And no longer would she have to wait

For it to come.
