"Not in a Million Years"
by Sara Jaye

LevinSylvia ficlet I typed up one night after noticing the difference in their love talk between the original script and the translation patch.

The sun set on another battle in the Yied desert. It was unbearably hot, and Levin found himself standing against a large, rocky plateau, sans his robe. His lover, quite pleased with the sight, leaned against his arm.

"When's the fighting gonna be done?" she asked.

"Maybe tonight, maybe not for a week," Levin sighed. "I'm getting tired, too...as soon as this is over I'm going back to Silesia to rest up."

Sylvia nodded, suddenly a little pensive.

"Levin?" she asked.

"What is it, Sylvia?" Her fingers clutched his sleeve.

"Do you still like me?"

Levin blinked.

"Eh? What's this all of a sudden?"

"Just tell me," Sylvia implored. "Do you still love me? Or are you gonna forget about me once you're king of Silesia?"

Levin smiled.

"Would we be together if I didn't?" he asked. "Of course I love you! And I don't care what anyone else says, you'll be a great queen. You'll bring a little spirit to the palace!"

Sylvia giggled and clasped her hands together.

"Good!" she squealed. "That's all I needed to hear! Cause I really love you!"

"Ah, Sylvia..."

"You are the only one for me! Lalalalalala!" Sylvia rambled, dancing happily in circles around him. Levin sighed.

"Aw, Sylvia, you mind bringing it down a notch? People are staring!" he said.

Sylvia suddenly became serious.

"Levin," she whispered, throwing her arms around him and nestling her head against his chest. "I'll never forget you...promise you'll never forget me, no matter what happens."

"...Sylvia..." Levin returned her embrace, resting his head against hers. "I could never forget you, not even in a million years."

"Good."

They stayed like that, watching from a distance as Freege and Velthomer's armies ravaged each other. It would be over soon.
