Yes, yes I know, I'm supposed to be working on my other story. I swear I'll have an update soon. But this in the mean time is a sorry for how long it's taking. Hehe, sorry.

Ivan was content for the current moment, his head nestled into the crook of his wife's scarfed neck. The blonde woman giggled as she took a sip of the vodka in her glass, a sign that she was already a bit tipsy. Ivan's violet eyes glanced over at his daughter, Rose, sitting in the plush armchair next to them. She was quietly knitting something for a friend of hers, Kanaya, if he remembered correctly.

Roxy shifted in the Russian's arms and turned to look at him with a sweet smile on her face. A slurred, 'love ya' came pouring out of her mouth as she placed a quick kiss upon his nose. Ivan smiled at her, a chuckle rumbling from his chest. The woman rested her forehead on the plush scarf draped across his neck and wrapped her free arm around his torso.

Rose glanced at her parents, a soft look in her violet eyes. Setting down her knitting tools, the child slid off the chair and strode over to her parents. A longing look in her eyes as she held up her arms wordlessly. The mother chuckled, set down her glass then reached to pick up her sweater clad child.

Placing the child on her lap, Mrs. Lalonde smiled down at her. Twinkling fuchsia eyes met calculating violet before the mother ruffled the child's soft hair. Rose's father smiled at them, wrapping his arms around them both in a gentle, loving way. He bent his head to kiss his Rose on her forehead, but placed a quick peck on his wife's lips.

A small, 'blegh' sound had been heard from Rose. Roxy questioned if that Jade girl had told her about cooties again. The mother shook her head, and with a chuckle dismissed the thought. A loud chime came from the old grandfather clock in the hallway, a gift from her brother who said it was, 'Ironically fitting.'

Ivan sighed and glanced at Roxy, she knew that look, it was his I-have-to-go-to-a-Confrence-tomorrow-look. She didn't particularly like this look, meaning he would be gone for the rest of the week. But, she knew that this was one of the obstacles she knew she'd face when married to him. Fortunately, she could be a patient woman. He also brought items for her and Rose when he came back so that was a plus.

Roxy nodded curtly, placing young Rose on the floor. The woman was about to take her leave from his lap as well, well she would've, if he didn't grab her hand that was. Mr. Braginsky pulled her into a kiss gently, possibly the last she'd have for a while. Lalonde pulled away with a gentle smile gracing her face. Gently, she caressed his face with the back of her hand before picking up the child and leaving to find her room.

Ivan sighed, a mixed look on his features, he took a swig of the abandoned bottle on the floor. Violet eyes gazed at the crackling fireplace before him. A lone smile crossed his handsome face. A single thought cascading through his mind.

"I wish all we had were quiet nights."

Give me some feedback, I'd like to see if this is any good or not.
