Meeting Again

"Lucy, get your head in the game and stop doodling off."
Everyday, for the last several years, Lucy's boss always found a way to put her down. Especially those rare days when she actually is doing her job better than her co-workers.
"Sorry," she said. "I'll try better next's time." She promise.
Without saying a single word back, Lucy's boss just simply walked away, making her feel more ashamed of herself ... in her dream, she had the courage to quit—but in reality, she couldn't. Because this job helped support of her family.
"Don't listen to him, Lucy." One of her co-workers (and best friend), Levy placed her hand onto her shoulder, trying to Lucy up. "I don't know why he always take it out on you while he's upset."
"It's ok," said Lucy who was still feeling down. "I—I can handle him." She took Levy hand off of her shoulder. "Please don't worry about me," she said, quietly.
Levy frowned. "Lucy, you're my best friend and the only decent person who works here—of course I had worry about you."
Lucy smiled. "Thanks, Levy." Lucy have known her for many years ... she is particularly her sister at this point. Levy was also the only one who truly knew her situation with her family, and also knew why she couldn't quit her job.
"Anyway ..." Levy changed the subject. "Our shift is almost over, do you want to go and get something to eat?"
"I can't tonight." Lucy got up from the desk in her office space. "Rain check, maybe?"
"I understand," said Levy who knew what Lucy meant when she said rain check. "I'll see you tomorrow, then." Levy walked away from office.

"I'm home." Lucy opened the front door of her apartment and slipped the black flats off of her feet. She was holding a plastic bag that was filled with takeout. "Mom," Lucy said shouting across the room. "I brought home dinner for you."
She stopped walking when she notice her mother was on the couch, passed out. She also notice beer bottles laying around the night table. You've drink yourself to sleep, again, Lucy thought.
Lucy placed the plastic bag on the table and picked up another bag from the kitchen cabinet. She than began to pick up the bottles, one-by-one, until her mother woke up from the click of bottle hitting another.
"When did you get home," Lucy's mother asked as she rubbed her eyes.
"Just now," said Lucy as she continued to pick up the bottles. "If you're awake, then go wash up; I brought home dinner for you." Her tone sounded like she was disappointed. Because she was.
Lucy's mom felt a bit ashamed. "I thought you'd be gone for a little while, or with your friends?" She said, while getting up from the couch. All she could see was Lucy picking up the empty bottles. "I—I can explain, Lucy."
Lucy looked at her mother, but then quickly looked at the bags filled with empty bottles. "Go wash up and eat. I'll be in my room," she said, throwing the bag filled with bottles on the counter, that made a big noise.

Natsu Dragneel never thought he would return back to Magnolia city, even after being gone for more than ten years. Jiggling the keys in his hand, he opened the empty apartment that was previously owned by his older brother.
His older brother had gotten married recently, and is starting a new chapter in his life with his new wife, so he didn't need the apartment anymore. Zeref thought of selling it, but decided to gave to his younger brother who moved back for work.
Natsu sighed as he knew the keys onto the kitchen counter. Ten years . . . ten years since he left this city. Nothing have changed since he left. That didn't surprise him. Not in the slightest bit.
He then notice a note that was left on the blank fridge. He peeled it off and began to read it.
Natsu,
The fridge is already filled with food, and so is the cabinets as well. There no need for you to make a trip to the grocery store; the bed is already made, and there are extra bedsheets and towels for you. They are in the bedroom closet.
I wish I could've see you one last time before I left, but you didn't reply back to my texts. Anyways, please call me when you've arrived ... even though you probably won't. Goodbye, little brother.
Zeref.
Crumpling the sticky note in his hand, Natsu threw it against the fridge, falling onto the ground.
Sighted to himself, Natsu drag his suitcase and went to his room. Because he will be starting his brand-new job tomorrow morning.

Lucy's fingers typed away as she wrote multiple reports on the office computer. Hoping that she would finish up quickly, so her day would end.
"Lucy!" She stopped typing when she heard her boss calling her name.
She got up and replied with, "yes, boss."
"Office, now," her boss said as he waited at his office door.
"Of course." Lucy began to walk near his office.
Once entered, her boss closed the door and Lucy sat down across the desk. "Did I do something wrong," she said, mumbling away.
There was a short pause before her boss began to speak, "as you already know, you are the only one who work in the department of sales right now?"
Lucy nodded. "Yes, I know, boss."
"the reason why I called you down, is because corporate had transfer a new worker that is in you department after, and I need you to help him get settled in."
Lucy nodded. She actually forgot that she was going to get a new partner in her department. "When will be coming, boss?"
"He is downstairs, so now," he boss said while excusing her out.
.
.
"How can I help you today, sir?" The receptionist asked Natsu who was standing at the desk, waiting for answer from him.
While talking to the receptionist, Lucy stepped outside, now waiting for the new person who will be working in her department.
I'm Natsu Dragneel, and I was transferred to work here in department 304. Lucy paused for a moment when she turned around to see what she was overhearin. "Natsu?" Lucy couldn't believe from very own eyes. "Natsu Dragneel?"
Natsu turned around. "... Lucy Heartfilia?" A small gasp was let out when he saw her standing there.
Lucy smiled. "Oh my gosh! It is you." Lucy walked towards Natsu and gave him a hug. "It's been so long."
"Nice to see you, too, Lucy." Natsu hugged her back for a second before backing away.
"I would've never guessed that you'd end up working in my department." She let out a small chuckle. "Especially when you told me you never moved come back.
"I would've never guessed that I ended up working for you," Natsu said. "I got transferred here, so we'll be working together from now on."
She wanted to ask why he came back, but couldn't say it. "My boss is waiting for you, so follow me, plesse." Lucy began walking back to her office, while Natsu followed her back.
