Title: Perfect
Summary: Yeah, I'm lame and I have no idea where I got the idea to write like this. Oh well, I just wrote down whatever I felt, and I'm sorry if I sound completely stupid. Anyway, Luke and Lorelai of course. I used to line that we've been seeing in all the previews. And yes, it is very short. Sorry, I wrote it in like five minutes.

Azure eyes stare; expressing everything she wants them too. Nervousness, excitement, angst. He's only a few feet away from her physically, but she has no idea if they are at the same place mentally. It's strange for her to be so sure of what she wants; to be in a relationship and no doubts whatsoever.
It's their first real date, and she knows exactly how she feels. While it might have been fun to tell people the old cliché of 'knowing the moment they met', it wasn't true. What she felt had come about over time. First they were friends...and it evolved. And no, she wasn't complaining. But is it too soon to tell him?
He knows what she's thinking, like always. It would never change, and that he was certain. Not that she was a person who was easy to read. Just...easy to read for him. After being best friends with someone for more then a decade, you pick up on certain things. He reaches his hand over the table to hers, and she clasps it eagerly.
"Luke," She says so softly, he can barely hear her.
When she doesn't elaborate, he takes control. He knew it was for his own amusement to let her try to tell him all the things he wants to say to her first. She seemed to take on new characteristics when this whole thing began. She wasn't so bold all the time around him anymore. He liked being the one who was for once.
"Lorelai," He says back, and she knows he's confidant. Whatever he is going to say, he means it. "I just want you to know...that this thing, we're doing here...I'm in. I'm all in."
She let's his words wash over her, and the breath she didn't know she was holding rushes out. He's in. This relationship means exactly to him, what it does to her. She's quiet while he pays the check, but he takes it in stride. Again, he knows her. He knows how he feels without her saying anything back. Although, it would have been nice.
He asks what she feels like doing now, and she's quiet for another minute.
"Let's...go to your apartment."
There isn't much light there in the truck, so she doesn't notice him raise his eyebrows. No, that wasn't what he was expecting. However, he continues the way to his apartment. Although he is excited, he beings to feel nervous. He hopes it doesn't show.
They arrive, and as soon as they enter his apartment, their mouths crash into one another. They've both done this before (Lorelai slightly more experienced then Luke) but everything feels brand new, now that they're with each other.
She stumbles a little as she walks backwards into the bed. She smiles slightly, and makes a joke about how Luke has finally gotten a bigger bed. He laughs a nervous laugh, wanting to say something but he can't; trying to think of something witty when all he can think about is her and what they're doing isn't exactly easy.
When it's over they hold each other. She snuggles against him, still contemplating what she should say. It was perfect and amazing, sure. How could she say any of that without sounding like one of those cheesy romance novels she had mocked for hours on end in the past? So instead, she kisses his check, brings her lips close to his ear, and whispers "I love you."
He swallows, realizing that she had said it first. He smiles, and faces her.
"You know, that I love you too," He says. Her smile widens and her eyes close.
"Yeah," And she kisses him again.
Everything is just so perfect.
