Dr. Animo frowned after he fed a black cat in his apartment. *Roger is going to be here any minute. I am four months behind in rent.
I never like it when the landlord visits* he thought. Dr. Animo lifted the cat and smiled. He heard it as it purred. He scratched its face.
''You always cross my path, but you aren't bad luck,'' Dr. Animo muttered under his breath. He grinned while the cat still purred.
''You never have to worry about rent, landlords, etc.'' He heard a knock before he frowned again.
''Roger,'' Dr. Animo said. He walked to the door and opened it. The frown was still on his face after he saw Roger. ''I don't have cash.''
Roger saw the cat in Dr. Animo's arms. ''You can afford to feed the cat, but you can't pay your rent,'' he said. He began to scowl at Dr. Animo. ''You and your furry friend are going to be homeless. Part with cash, Animo. Right now,'' Roger said.
Dr. Animo and the cat hissed at Roger.
The cat scratched Roger's face prior to another hiss.
Roger winced before his eyes became wide. ''I'll return next month!'' He ran.
Dr. Animo focused on the cat. He grinned again. The cat still purred. Dr. Animo scratched its face another time. He embraced the animal.
''Black cats aren't always bad luck.''
