~enjoy!~

Silence, was quite a description.

An uncomfortable feeling to Weiss after a fateful night left her mother dead, and herself with a permanent scar. Today was day her mom died, 9 years ago. When she was 8. She watched as four faunus charged at her mother, but she'd failed to see the fifth faunus creeping up on her with a sword.

The bombs detonating as several faunus slaughtered innocent butlers and maids. Weiss had seen it all. Her eyes filled with unshed tears as she saw the sword enter her mother, a look of sorrow crossed her mother's face as she glanced at her daughter one final time.

When the attacked ended all that was left...silence.

Screams were silenced by assassinations, yells of anger vanished as pounding grew in her head. How could the faunus killed another. That was correct. Her mother was a faunus, a Fox faunus.

Weiss opened her eyes, rubbing her temple. She sat inside the dorm, alone. Alone with her thoughts.

Silent.

It was a terrible feeling of dread, she no longer felt happy and relaxed by the quietness of the room as she felt her breathing quicken.

'Shut up, mutt!'

'Fucking filthy faunus, ain't ya?'

'Faunus don't belong here!'

"Weiss!" Weiss snapped her eyes open, she realized her hand had been touching the scar that crisscrossed her left eye. It was pure luck that she hadn't lost her sight in that eye. After the attack by the White Fang. But her thoughts were interrupted by Ruby, who was eyeing her with confusion and worry.

Weiss smiled shakily, hoping Ruby didn't see her small attack. But it seemed like she had.

"Are you okay, Weiss?"

Weiss nodded curtly, as she replied to Ruby's question. "I'm fine." Weiss glared at Ruby who opened, but now decided against asking more questions at Weiss' glare of desperation and anger.

Weiss turned her head back towards the textbook that sat in front of her. Right, she was studying.

Ruby decided to not press the matter as she threw her bag on her own bed, before she turned to Weiss again, clearly nervous.

"Hey, Weiss. Have you seen Blake?" Weiss took a moment to react , but turned to stare at Ruby on confusion.

"No."

"Oh, cause she ran off right after the bell rang, I'm just worried about our teammate." Weiss made a noise of understanding as Weiss slapped her book closed. This was unlike Weiss, usually she studied until nighttime.

"Im, going out." Weiss muttered, without an explanation as she rushed out of the room, with fervor.

...

Weiss scrambled up the stone steps. She was pretty far from Beacon now, a hidden fountain that made her calm whenever she came to look at it.

She'd go here every week since the beginning of the year. The year had seemed to go by so fast, she would have never thought someone like Ruby would end being team leader and one of her closest friends.

'What a dolt.'

'But she's my dolt.'

Weiss paused, her dolt? It must have been her mind being weird from how tired and heavy her eyelids felt.

The water trickling down the fountain lulled her closet as she peered at herself in the reflective water. Her eyes watched as her hand yet again drifted up to her scar. An accident, a horrible one.

She remembered every single sensation, she remembered every thought that plagued her mind, every thought that still plagued her mind even to this day.

Weiss felt her body collapse to the ground as her mother was stabbed, tears threatening to spill, but never did. She felt empty, and some as a deer faunus rushed towards her.

She could care less as she watched the life face from her mother's eyes.

The faunus was thrown by a bomb that lay beside both of them, but one of the antlers that laid on the deer faunus head sliced her eyes, and she cried out.

"Hey!" A loud shout came and a shriek came from the roof direction she lay sprawled in.

Her eyes felt like it was on fire, she couldn't see through that eye.

Klein, the older butler was an ex-huntress as her slammed several White Fang into the ground, when it was all over, she felt herself being carried.

"I found Miss Schnee!" Klein shouted, and several people breathes signs of relief as the White Fanh finally made their retreat. A son interrupted the silence.

"They killed her."

Klein turned to see Weiss sobbing into her hands, sorrow fixed on her face as she looked up at the butler with one eye open and the other one closed.

"They killed my mom!"

Weiss let out a shaky breath as she dropped her arms back to her sides, and sat down on the edge of the fountain, tears blurring her vision, as she blinked her eyes dry.

She wiped her eyes. She heard some chirps of birds as she heard a low growl. She reached to her side, remembering she brought Myrtenaster with her. Sword unsheathed, she looked in the direction she heard the growl.

A Alpha Beowulf growled as it charged out of the trees, feet stomping the ground, making imprints in the ground, as it's red eyes stared at Weiss.

Weiss charged, slicing the Beowulf in quick succession, as the Alpha snarled in anger, it swiped it's paw, but was frozen to the ground by it's paw as Weiss fired ice dust at it. Weiss charged with sharp precision and Myrtenaster impaled its skull, cracking its open as it turned to dust.

Weiss backflipped only to hear several more regular beowulves behind her. She turned, the rest of the pack growled and snarled at her.

"Hey!" Weiss yelped as she felt someone tackle her, or something? A Beowulf snapped at her as felt it's drool droop onto her cheek. She scrunched her face in disgust. This Beowulf had an odd red tint to it.

It's eyes glowed green as she felt something press into her. It's claws. It broke through her aura with ease, as if had just phased through her aura, as she felt it's claws sliced across her back. Shrieking she kicked, blood pouring from her back.

She stood up, panting, Myrtenaster in one hand and the other holding her stomach, blood dribbling down her body as she fled.

The grimm watched her flee, their eyes narrowed.

'Why aren't they following me? Anyways, I have to get to beacon. I-im gonna bleed out at this rate.'

Weiss' felt herself getting heavy and tired as she retreated to the closest thing she could before she passed out. A cave, a dark cave, she didn't know what would lay in there.

...

Ruby watched her friend leave, a frown plastered on her face, as Weiss shut the door quietly. Ruby huffed, as she heard heard steps come from the opposite side of the hall. Yang burst in, laughing at Ruby's expression.

Ruby decided against looking for Weiss or Blake, as she lay on her bed, not bothering to check her scroll, as she just say and watched birds fly by the window.

She waited for a bit, and Yang offered her comfort, she was worried about the rest of the team too.

They were both acting off.

Ruby sighed, turning on her side as she heard someone walk in. Blake.

Blake was silent as she settled into her bed, with a tired grunt. Even though it was only around 6:00 now.

...

Weiss groaned, pain scorching her as she heard the wind howl outside the cave, as she writhed in pain on the cold, icy ground. She hissed as she tried to touch her side, which she could trace every indent of where the strange coloured Beowulf had struck her.

She felt dizzy, probably from the blood loss as she stumbled into to shaky legs. It would be a long stretch back to the dorms.

Myrtenaster drew from her sheathe as she stumbled her way, blood dripping down into the dirt path that led back oddly conveniently to Beacon.

Grimm growled, but didn't come any closer that before as they let Weiss stumble past.

The off coloured grimm growled at her before howling to the moon, sharp green spikes unsheathing from it's back as it led the other grimm back into the forest.

Weiss stumbled still, she listened, she heard water trickling down.

'The fountain!'

She stumbled, as her heard someone gasp, looking up with half closed eyes, she caught sight of brown clothes. A commoner, as stated previously, the fountain was pretty far away from Beacon, though by a small village.

She fell onto her knees, as she heard a gasp, from them again as she sprawled on the ground. Jesus, if her father saw her now. He was right, she was always a failure.

...

It was dark by now, cool air in the form as Ruby rocked and back and forth, waiting for Weiss who would never come back that night or the next.

Yang and Blake tried comforting her, but Ruby was still extremely worried about her partner and friend, she was always back before night fell. Her scroll was off tpoo, as Ruby tried calling her quite a bit of times.

Yang spoke up.

"I'm sure she's fine, Ruby. Go to bed it'll be okay I'm the morning, she'll be okay." Yang finished as Ruby looked at her with unconvinced expression , but plopped down by her drawer, getting her pajamas.

Blake was reading one of her books, looking up once to stare at Ruby before her eyes flicked back down.

Once Ruby was done changing she settled into her bed, looking more like a caterpillar than anything, it was going to be a very long night.
