''Daddy is here,'' D'Void said to a baby Null Guardian. Frowning, he placed a stuffed animal in the creature's tentacles. *My baby was sick during many hours* D'Void thought. He remained near the small crib. D'Void viewed the creature resting near six stuffed animals. He turned his head and faced the doorway.
*My enemies aren't here. Adult Null Guardians will attack the trespassers or pursue them.* D'Void smiled and approached his bed.
He collapsed on the bed and fell asleep.
Hours went by before D'Void opened his eyes. He sat up. He gasped after he found himself in a cell. D'Void viewed Pierce standing near Manny. A scowl appeared on his face. *My enemies!* he thought.
''You are always going to remain in a cell for conquering the Null Void,'' Manny said to D'Void.
Helen appeared as she embraced the baby Null Guardian. She heard D'Void while the latter gasped. There was sadness in her eyes. ''I stood near the baby earlier, D'Void.'' Helen paused. ''I apologize,'' she said.
Helen opened the door before she parted with the infant. She watched while D'Void held the creature. She still frowned as tears streamed down D'Void's face. After opening the door again, she closed it.
Pierce departed with Manny and Helen.
D'Void sobbed and never released the baby. He gasped again after the Null Guardian stirred. ''You never abandoned me?'' D'Void smiled.
He continued to embrace the baby. *I won't endure solitude another time.*
