A/N: Hey, there! Well, I was looking at Snupin pictures while listening to music, when I saw this picture that was sad and the song 'I Wish The Best For You' by Emerson Hart was playing, and this is what came out of it. Enjoy!
Warning: This is a Severus/Remus fanfic. Don't like, don't read.I Wish The Best For You
The rain was pouring down hard and fast. Remus J. Lupin was watching it out the window of his small flat in Diagon Alley. He was waiting for his Wolfsbane Potion from one Severus Snape. The full moon had past for this month, but Severus had told Remus that he wouldn't be around, for unknown reasons, so it was best to keep a stock.
/How long can we wait here
To say goodbye?
The words once they're spoken
Are words that we can't take/
Remus looked away from the window when the door flew open and Severus Snape walked in. Remus' smiled was small and he walked over to the table in the kitchen area. Severus set the bottles of the potion at the table in front of the werewolf.
/Back to where we were, before
Things got in the way
Life gets so confusing
When you know what you're losing/
"Thanks, Severus."
The Potions Master nodded and turned to leave. He stopped when Remus placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him. Severus looked at the hand and shrugged it off.
"What do you want, Lupin? It better be important." He said as he turned around.
/You, Me
Why can't we see that there's
More to love than we'll ever know
Sometimes you're closer when you're
Letting go
I wish the best for you
I wish the best for you/
Remus walked forward until he was about six inches away from the Potions Master. Before Snape could say anything, Remus placed his lips gingerly over his. Severus, hesitant at first, returned the kiss. Remus let out a low growl when he felt Severus probe his mouth with his tongue. Almost imminently, Remus opened his mouth to let the tongue in. Severus pulled away first, breathing heavily.
/We'll both regret the hurting
That we will do/
"Stay, Sev. Just for tonight." Remus panted. Severus' face pained and he wrapped his arms around the werewolf.
"Sorry, but I can't. I'm sorry, Rem." He whispered into his neck. "It has to do with Albus. I was lucky to see you tonight."
"You're always doing stuff for him." Remus mumbled.
/You'll learn to forget me
And I'll try
I'll try to forget /
"I know. I'm sorry." He pulled Remus up for another kiss. This kiss was different, more feverish. It scared Remus, made him feel like this was the last time that he would see the Head of Slytherin. When they pulled away, Severus softly pushed Remus away.
"Sev, don't do this. Please, don't leave." Remus begged.
/You, Me
Why can't we see that there
More to love then we'll ever know
Sometimes you're closer when you're
Letting go
I wish the best for you
I wish the best/
"Rem, don't start this." He said harshly. "I have no choice. You know that." He turned away, so Remus couldn't see his tears.
"Yes, I do know that, but…"
/If you ever need a place that you can run to
I'll
be here, I'll be here/
"No 'buts'. I have to leave now." He said, his voice hard. Remus let the tears he'd been holding go.
"I love you, Sev." He whispered loud enough so Severus could hear.
"Goodbye, Lupin."
/You, Me
Why can't we see that there's
More to love than we'll ever know
Sometimes you're closer when you're
Letting go/
A few days later, Remus stood with Harry, Ron, Hermione and everyone, except Severus and Draco Malfoy at Albus Dumbledore's funeral. Harry was holding back tears, but Remus knew that it wasn't for the fallen Head Master. It was for the same reason that he held his back. Severus and Draco were never coming back.
/I wish the best for you
I wish the best for you/
