Ursa had known he would be different. She had known that. But it still didn't prepare her for this.
It didn't prepare her for white, nearly translucent scales on thin skin wrapped around fragile bones and muscles. She had been prepared for the pain of the birth and even the pale gold eyes. She hadn't been prepared for this. This being tiny, frail, dragon wings residing where an earlobe obviously should. They arched around the canal like barriers of some sort, folding on top of it to lay flat against his head. While they only stretched a few centimeters from his head, the tiny dragon wings were far from inconspicuous.
How am I going to hide him now? It will be nearly impossible, and then-
No. Just no. This was her baby, and if she had to do the impossible… she would. This? Only the nearly impossible. She would keep him. Her baby was not going to die by Ozai's hand.
This sweet thing that smiled and grinned at her was not going to die. Not for being born. She would hide him. She didn't know how yet, but she would.
His name was Zuko. His father had told her it meant Harmony.
Okay, this is my little challenge/one day prologue. When I write I generally write what I want to read. Unfortunately, I have a million and one stories currently in the mix. Thus this is a challenge to you writers out there. One day I'm going to come back and finish this little plot bunny but for now it all yours. If you do decide to write it there are few little suggestions I'd like to make.

Number 2: I don't know how evident this was in the little clip I wrote above but the basic idea for this fic is that Zuko's mom was unfaithful to Ozai. She met and made love with a dragon named Zendo who took human form to be with her. Shortly after Zendo leaves and Ursa finds out she's pregnant. Ursa gives birth and finds out that Zuko has dragon wings on his head. She decides she will keep and hide him.
3. Azula is in no way a child of a dragon. She is purely human and the daughter of Ursa and Ozai.
4. Zendo doesn't know about Zuko.
5. This should definitly be considered AU. Kill all canon!
