Chapter 1
It was night, the forests whispers echoed through the never ending darkness.
Silver raced through the night and through the trees and was part of a pack of foxes that called themselves the MoonLight pack. They were known as the most graceful bunch of all the packs in the area.
Silver was a had just been transferred from kit to apprentice and had been granted a mentor,WolfSong. As she ran through the forest to her pack she thought of all the things she would do tomorrow. She would learn to hunt, fight, and move into a different den and learn different skills.
When she arrived she quickly got into her new den next to her friend Echo, for as she was not supposed to be didn't consider herself a troublemaker but she sometimes sneaked out into the night to have fun.
She was woken up by a prodding paw and an annoying grunt. "Get up Silver!" She heard Thorn say, her other friend. She got up, yawned and walked out, Everybody was moving around already! She was never up this early as a kit! Silver, Echo, and Thorn ran out into the clearing to meet their mentors. WolfSong(Her mentor), RavenWing(Thorn's mentor), and Ripple(Echo's mentor).
They immediately started training and Silver had never been so started by all walked to the Birch tree, a hunting spot and she barely listened to her mentor as she explained how to hunt. She had already hunted sometimes when she snuck away at night. Besides she was just looking at the beautiful forest in the daylight. To her it was more beautiful at night when the moonlight covered the forest, casting dancing shadows everywhere.
When they finally arrived at the Birch Tree Silver was chosen to hunt first. She immediately spotted movement in the undergrowth. She dropped low and crept up on the unaware squirrel and pounced. She came back to her friends and their mentors with a fat limp squirrel hanging from her whispered as she walked by "Nice first catch." After everybody had a decent amount of prey they walked back to camp.
When they arrived she was called over by WolfSong She was needed to go on a patrol! "It will give you a chance to meet other foxes and explore the territory!"
WolfSong, her mentor said. Her Cloud, CherryFern, and WolfSong walked out of camp. They edged along the forest and raced through the undergrowth towards the border between them and the SunLight pack border.
They started placing markers and scenting the bushes. Then Cloud exclaimed "Where is CherryFern!" Then they heard an aggressive growl and a helpless whimper.
Some SunLight foxes came out of the border and growled at them. One said "I believe this fox is yours!' they kicked the whimpering CherryFern onto their border.
Then Cloud jumped onto one and they started into a fight of claws and random tufts of fur.
Silver jumped on one and clawed their ears until they ran away. Then WolfSong Speaked up and said "Stop! We must settle this and talk to our leaders at the next Gathering. " Then one of the SunLight foxes said "Okay until next time!"
The whole way back she thought of how she was in a real fight not just playing with a dead mouse or they arrived back she went into her den and took a nap, not bothering to play with her thought about how WolfSong was talking with the Alpha fox, Shadow until she drifted into a dark sleep.
