I know you all asked for a sequel, but I really can't think of a good plot for one, so instead, a prequel. Also, YGO: HMT is also on my Deviantart account, as will this. There won't be any differences, but I want to upload it there too.
Kiarra's POV
I ran twords the office building as fast as she could, holding onto the portfolio I was to present today. I cut a corner, and ran into someone.
"Hey, watch wher-" A man's voice said.
"Sorry." I said, looking up and into Seto Kaiba's surprised face. I gathered the things I dropped. "Umm. If you'll excuse me, I'm late."
I sighed, leaving the office building. I had just made it into the meeting, but I had to do most of the presentation from memory because most of it was missing. I must have missed some in my rush to get here. I thought. I started walking home. I passed Kaiba Corp upon the way. It was always on my way home.
"I believe you dropped these." Seto Kaiba said from behind me.
I turned, to see him holding the missing pages of my presentation. "Thanks." I said, taking them.
"It's impressive work." He said, putting his hand into his pocket.
"My boss thought so too." I said. "Though I had to do this part from memory."
"I know this may be a strange question to ask but..." He hesitated. "Have we met before? Before you crashed into me?"
"No I would have remembered meeting you." I said. "And sorry about that, I was in a rush."
"It's alright." He said.
"If you'll excuse me, Mr. Kaiba, I need to be getting home." I said.
Seto's POV
"May I walk you home?" I blurted out before I could stop myself. Why did I just ask her that? Ever since I ran into her...
"Oh, no thank, I'll be fine." She said, looking a little confused. She put a strand of hair behind her ear, and her eyes seemed to shine after she finished the motion. My heart seemed to skip a beat. "I don't want you going out of your way. Thanks though, for offering."
"Can I at least get your name?" I asked.
"Kiarra, Kiarra Koizumi." She said before walking away.
Kiarra Koizumi...
Kiarra's POV
I crashed on my bed, sighing. I thought of my meeting with Kaiba. He acted nothing like what I've heard about him. Then again, since he came back from suddenly disappearing to Egypt a lot of people, even his employee's have seen differences in him.
I woke the next morning, groaning at the sunlight in my face. Then I realized something was wrong. The sun shouldn't be this high in the sky this time of year. I shot around on the bed, and caught a glimpse of the clock. Eleven A.M. I cursed, and got out of bed. I got ready as fast as I could, as I was heading out the door.
I arrived at the office, to see my boss waiting at his desk, looking disapointed. "Kiarra, please come to my office."
I walked in, and shut the door.
"I'm sorry Kiarra, but this is your last strike, I'm afraid I'm going to have to let you go." He said.
"I understand sir, thank you." I said.
I lied on a park bench, staring at the clouds, absentmindedly shuffling my deck. When I had returned home, I had grabbed my deck and duel disk before heading to the park, hoping a duelist was around. Dueling always takes my mind off things.
"So we meet again, Miss. Koizumi." Seto Kaiba's voice said.
I turned my head and sat up. "Hi." I said, hoping I didn't sound to miserable. "What brings you here?"
"Just taking a walk." He said. He seemed to notice I was down. "Is something wrong?"
"I got fired today." I said. "Overslept to many times."
He didn't seem to know what to say, but noticed my duel disk. "You duel?"
"Mostly when I need a distraction." I said.
"Would you like to duel?" He asked.
I smiled. "Sure, thought I doubt I'll last long." I said.
I sighed as my life points hit zero. "Told you."
"You didn't do that bad." He said.
"Seto! There you are." Someone said from behind me.
I turned to see a young teenager, around 15 or so, run up to us. "Everyone at the company is looking for you." He looked at our duel disks. "Of course you're dueling."
"Sorry, Mokuba." Seto said. "I didn't realize how much time had passed since I left."
"It was nice seeing you again." I said before starting to leave.
"Kairra, wait up a moment." Seto said. I turned. "Would you like a job at Kaiba Corp?"
"Really?" I asked, stunned. Mokuba looked stunned to.
"I've seen your work." Seto said. "You'll fit right in."
"Thank you." I said. "When do I start?"
"Tomorrow." He said.
"Thanks again." I said, before running off.
