Prologue
A demented tune traveled down the empty corridors of the asylum.
It washed over other patient's heads, lulling them into a sleep- like trance.
It entered the doctor's minds. Meddling here and there, whispering ideas into their subconscious. The song came to an abrupt stop as high pitched cackling rang from a cell in solitary confinement.
There, in that lonely little cell, sat a boy. His chocolate colored locks hung limply in front of his eyes which were such a deep color of brown, they looked black.
But he was not the one who was laughing like someone told a really good joke.
A triangular shaped silhouette floated above the child, the unnerving laughter pouring from its center.
"Wow, kid!" The triangle wheezed after a few minutes. "A mind-control spell, huh? You must be getting desperate.
What? Scaring the white jackets half to death not working?" It said sarcastically.
The child grinned up at the floating shape. "Well, you obviously weren't going to help me. What else could I do?"
"You could've just broken out. I know you're capable of it, after all."
The boy folded his arms over his chest. "Bill, you should know me better! Breaking out is cheating. I hate cheaters."
The triangle- Bill's - singular eyebrow raised slightly. "So, using magic isn't cheating?"
"Shut up, corn chip. I was only... nudging the white jackets in the right direction."
"Uh-oh," the triangle snickered, "You're starting to sound like me."
"How tragic." The brunette giggled.
The two sat in silence for a moment before Bill spoke up.
"I have to go now. Some stupid meatsack is summoning me. See ya if you get out, Pine Tree!" The isocelese demon disappeared in a quick flash of light.
The grin the child had on for the entire visit slid off his face. He scowled at the ground.
"Not if, you incompetent Dorito." He growled before looking back up at the area Bill had occupied a minute a go. His blackish eyes flashed a vibrant blue.
"When."
