Bruise

Dedicated to SimpleNClean92 :)

Cloud was sitting on the couch, the team was nowhere to be found; finally, he was in peace.

He loved how the cushions instantly molded around his back, giving the ultimate comfort and relaxation he needed. However, despite all the comfort he was feeling in his back, his hand was throbbing with pain.

His knuckles were bruised.

He closed his eyes, trying to ignore the sting from his knuckles and tried to relax, but that was soon out of the question when he felt something plop down beside him.

A smiling Aerith, had propped herself next to Cloud on the couch and was staring at him. He averted his gaze to the flower girl, and then quickly brought them back to the far wall that was facing him.

Aerith continued to smile, examining Cloud's profile and than brought her gaze to his knuckles. The smile faded, and her brows arched in question.

"What happened to your knuckles?"

Cloud lazily turned his head over to the curious girl and stared at her blankly.

"Nothing." His answer only furthered her curiosity. She locked gazes with the soldier and huffed.

"Liar."

Cloud looked away from the flower girl and grunted. He tried to hide his hand away from her by putting his other one on top to cover it, and closed his eyes, trying to rest. Aerith watched as Cloud ignored her, she inched closer to him and rested her hand on top of his.

"Does it hurt?" Her eyes were concerned, she grabbed the hand that was under his other one, and gently started to rub her thumb across his knuckles.

He flinched at her soft touch, stinging his knuckles, but he decided to lie.

"No."

Aerith stared at him, "Liar..." She grabbed his hand and brought it up to her face, looking at how bruised it was. Cloud turned his head to look at the flower girl, wondering what she was doing. He watched as a smile curved on her lips, making his heart skip a beat and felt his cheeks heat up and turn a shade of scarlet.

Aerith had closed his hand into a loose fist and brought it up to her mouth, gently pressing her lips against Cloud's knuckles. She closed her eyes as she planted the soft kiss on his bruised knuckles than opened them, smiling at Cloud who was blushing.

Cloud quickly looked away, looking down to his knees trying to hide his blush away from her.

"My mom told me that a kiss makes everything better..." Cloud looked up to Aerith, his hard eyes softened up to the flower girl. She took her lips off his hand and set it back down, keeping her hand resting on top of his. She cocked her head to the side, and questioned.

"Does it feel better?" Cloud nodded, and a small smile rested upon his lips.

"Yeah..." He replied softly, shying away from her gaze. Cloud took his arm, and wrapped it around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him. She rested her head on his shoulder, and could only smile, relaxing from the way Cloud was gently playing with her hair.

He looked at her, planting a small kiss on the top of her head and rubbed her shoulder gently, whispering.

"Thanks."
