"Aah, thank you," William forced a grin, he thought this stranger is so familiar and yet...
"Wait, how did you know it was my family heirloom?" he asked.
"Don't you remember me, William Twining?" the man shot back with another question.
He knew William's name. And yet Twining can't remember the stranger's name. How can he be so sure that he knew him too? Gut feeling. He believes so.
"You sure have changed a lot!" the stranger commented, patting him like a dog.
William felt annoyed but he didn't protest. It was a familiar feeling. A feeling that he was used to before.
"…Dantalion?" he murmured.
The stranger with bloodshot eyes suddenly had an enlightened face. He was so happy. Solomon actually remembered him this time.
"Bingo!" Dantalion said and hugged him tight. He wanted to cry tears of happiness but he resisted the will to do so. He was exaggeratedly overjoyed. If he was to write a love song, it was going to be thicker than the realist's book reports.
"It's really you, Dantalion?!" William questioned, still doubtful. Yet he can't help smiling and accepted his embrace even so.
The demon laughed and gently pushed him.
"It's so like you to doubt my existence," he snickered.
"So you're saying that I haven't changed at all? You silly meatball!" the blond said in jest.
"Mmph…" Dantalion tried to prevent letting out his laughter but failed.
He didn't think that a realist can be this funny. I mean, Twining was such a serious person before. Only caring to be number one in all academic subjects, money, and having a bright future…
"Since when were you a comedian?" he jokingly asked.
"How are Sytry and the hea- Camio?" William asked, completely ignoring the joke.
"Eh?" Dantalion gave him a dumbfounded look, "You're concerned about them when I'm in front of you?"
"Well, they aren't here-"
"They're all fine and busier than usual," he interrupted, "It's a good thing that I got free time unlik-"
"Unlike them," Twining also interrupted but completed the statement, "And so you decided to visit me."
"Yeah, pretty much exactly," he scratched the back of his head.
A moment of silence.
The nephilim is thinking what to talk about but is taking long. While William decided to keep quiet for a little while...
"Thank you for everything, Dantalion," he genuinely smiled.
