Disclaimer: Yuugiou (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters) is the property of Takahashi Kazuki and respective publishers, including Shueisha, Studio Gallop, Nihon Ad Systems, Toei Animation, 4Kids, and others. I would never claim to own it or attempt to make money off of it- just think of this as a written, free doujinshi and hopefully we'll get along fine ;)

Intervention
The summer air seems to be turning cold between the two of them, their locked gazes stripping it of any warmth. At least for a moment, since a second later the heat rises, both girls realizing that they aren't here, alone together, at the same time by coincidence.
"Wait a minute, darling agreed to meet me here at this time!"
"Yuugi told me the same thing," Anzu says, her voice a little snappish. She likes Rebecca, but she doesn't like the way she fawns all over Yuugi.
"You're lying! Darling wouldn't ask me out on a date and then do this!" Rebecca huffs and stomps her foot, looking every bit like the twelve year old (or is it thirteen, now?) she is. Maybe younger. She may be a genius, but she still hasn't had a lot of experience in dealing with people outside of duels.
"It's not a date, just…an outing! A boy and a girl spending time alone together isn't automatically a date." Anzu winces, thinking back on the closest thing she'd had to a date with Atemu. No, definitely not. It would have been a date with Yuugi, though.
She might not be arguing her point very well.
Rebecca opens her mouth to snap something back, but the ringing of Anzu's phone interrupts whatever she was going to say. Anzu opens it and sees an instant message. "From Yuugi…"
"It's from darling? Let me see!" Rebecca steps closer, peering over her arm at the phone, and they read it together.
"Friends shouldn't fight ;)"
Anzu can't help but smile a little. Yuugi is right, of course- the two of them are friends, and it's silly of them to fight so much over him.
Rebecca isn't scowling any more, and her hand hasn't left Anzu's arm from where it fell at some point in reading the message. That makes it easier to say, "So…where would you like to go for lunch?"
