A/N- this kind of reflects my feelings on the subject of AD(H)D. Understand that this is something I can say what I want about and so can many other people. If you don't have ADD you cannot understand what people who have it go through.
You Will Never UnderstandChief Vick came out of her office and went over to Lassiter.
"You have a case, 23 year old female murdered Downtown. Shawn just called and he'll be here soon"
"Damnit" Said Lassiter " I hate that kid, he just distracts us while we do real police work and figure out what happened, the kid is useless, and the spirits, Oh my Gosh, what am I gonna do. He's talking to us and links the case to pineapples, pineapples! He can't focus long enough to get a report done; the kid is an embarrassment to the department. Can't you just tell him to go away! I mean come on Vick!"
"Mr. Spencer is a valuable asset to this department, and I would appreciate it if you kept your opinions to yourself!" Vick replied angrily
"Lassiter, do you have any idea what its like" Shawn had just arrived and spoke unusually quiet, as though embarrassed. Gus was at his side staring in awe at Lassiter's words.
"What?" he asked legitimately confused.
" Do you have any idea what its like to never be able to focus for more than five minutes if that" his voice steadily rising "to right now see: that fly on the window, everyone moving around, all the cars in the street; To hear all the yelling, all the noise, every conversation going on except for this one; To have all of your teachers mark you as a "problem child" because everything else is going on and you can't even listen to why their yelling at you; To barely be able to think; To have tried every medication! Its called ADD, its just been marked as 'kids who don't want to listen' and no one believes its real" yelling at this point he took a deep breath and quietly said "You will never understand, any of you"
"Mr. Spencer-" said Chief Vick consolingly
"Forget it, Come on Gus"
The next day, it never happened
