World of Chances

Byakuran looked into the endless horizon stretching out before him; Blue, white, red, and black, these are the colors that painted the new world he had gotten. The new world that he created when he ultimately destroyed the old one.

It was... Empty.

There were no one in sight and there was a dreadful, hollow feeling that was creeping up Byakuran's heart, assuming he still had a heart, of course.

The white-haired man shook his head as he gave out a silent sigh and a small downward curve formed on his lips which used to grin the whole time before.

He had wanted to win, sure, it was a game after all. And he won, that was expected, too, of course. However, he never dreamt that winning could lead to this kind of melancholic grief in him. He had never experienced such a thing before.

Was it emptiness? Loneliness?

Standing up on the brown ground, he let his wings out and his dragon after. A moment later, with an almost sad smile, he closed his eyes in preparation to his death.

After all, he would rather be dead than empty.

But before his dragon unwillingly met his chest, a bright light appeared and with that, a small, tender hand closed in on the dragon and gently stopped it in its track.

The bright light irritating, Byakuran's eyes, he saw the person, the girl, that stopped his suicidal attempt.

And he thought that he was already dead because the person that stopped it was no other than Yuni, the person that he controlled and manipulated.

The person that had sacrificed her life for the better good.

"Am I... Dead?"

"You should have been," Yuni's voice was far more mature and more serene this time around. She met his lavender eyes with her blue ones and a tender smile formed into her lips, like as it usually does. When she cut off the eye contact in favor of looking towards the blank horizon stretching out in the world, she added, "But you have another chance at life."

"Ha?" A small, almost confused chuckle stirred up from Byakuran's lips as he looked quizzically at Yuni.

Yuni smiled at Byakuran as she met his eyes again. "I know that you've done a lot of horrible things not only to me, but to different parallel worlds too, but..."

She offered her free hand to him as she tilted her head.

"Will you join another world? For another chance?"

Byakuran was surprised when his hand unconsciously took her free hand and for once in his life, the light guided him to the right path.

A/N: There were a lot of birthdays that were celebrated this October, haha. Too bad I haven't written one for Xanxus' birthday. Another birthday drabble(those are the only things I write these days) but rejoice for anyone who reads my fic Tsuna-sensei! Since it's our semestral break this week, I would finally be able to publish the next chapter. :-) And who knows, I might even continue my other stories, too. Well, even if it would take me months or even years, I would just like assure everyone that I sure as hell won't discontinue any of them. Unless stated otherwise. Hopefully, I would have more time to write, but then again that's a hopeful thought. Hope everyone's doing fine :) I haven't visited my forum for a while, (I am such a bad moderator) but maybe you guys can visit it if you have time? Thanks :)
