Sebastian lovingly watched his wife brush her hair as they got ready for bed. He took a long, deep breath; what he was about to tell her wasn't going to be easy, especially not after all the fear that came from the wood in this past year.

"Bash?" Kenna quietly asked her husband. "Are you all right, love?"

"Of course," he smiled at her, but it quickly faded. "I just…I need to tell you something, and I don't want you to talk until I'm finished. It's going to be hard enough to get through this."

"Okay." she quietly said, a little nervous. That made two of them.

"You may have noticed that I know a lot about pagan culture, and I do. The reason being…I was raised pagan. My mother was, but that was before they started using human sacrifices. As soon as the rituals started getting out of hand, we left. I'm a Christian now, fully devoted to God. But there's more," he said as Kenna started to open her mouth.

"When Francis had me banished, I was supposed to be escorted to a ship that was to take me to Spain, but they attacked me instead. I later learned that they were my father's men, not my brother's, but I…I killed them. I took two men's lives, without giving it a second though. Those men that may have had families, people that depended on them…and I took that away." he chokes on his words and looked down at the bed, ashamed to be in tears in front of his wife.

Kenna took his chin in her hand and gently pulled his face up to look him in the eye. Both of their eyes glistened with tears.

"Please say something." Bash whispered.

"I'm glad you told me," she whispered back as she threw his arms around him. "I'm glad there are no secrets between us, and that you trust me enough to tell me. This doesn't make me love you any less, Bash. You did what you had to do out there. If you hadn't, I wouldn't be married to you."

Bash hugged his wife and held her right to him. "Thank you for not leaving me," he whispered in her ear.

"I could never." she said and then punctuated her sentence with a kiss.
