Castle sat by her side, holding her hand, hoping that she would wake up and just open her eyes and look at him and tell him it was going to be okay. It had been three months since the day Kate Beckett had been shot and she still hadn't woke. Richard Castle had not left her side.
Jim Beckett had been in the bed next to her because he had a stoke one month into Kate's coma, thinking he was going to lose his Katie if she didn't wake up soon. He thought he was going to be left alone. But the one person that hadn't been around, which really pissed Castle off, was Josh…
"I love you, Kate. Don't leave me, I love you. Stay with me".Kate kept hearing someone talking to her but she couldn't open her eyes or respond.
"Castle, get her out of here. NOW!"Suddenly, Captain Montgomery's face is right in front of hers. She feels someones hands around her waist, lifting her off the ground and running away. It was Castle, she could smell him. She fought against him, kicking her legs and throwing her arms around trying to get away. Get back to Roy.
She's up against the car and Castle's body's against hers, holding her in place. He held his hand over her mouth and whispering to her. "Shh, it's okay. I got you. I got you."She reached out and ran her hand down his face. There was a gunshot then everything went black.
The numbers on the clock shone brightly in the dark room, burning 12:05 into Castles retina's as he sat by Kate's bed, holding onto her hand praying for her to wake.
"Castle?" He heard a croaky voice. Thinking it was just in his head he ignored it. Until, "Castle?"
He frowned and turned his head towards Kate. Her eyes were open. Wait! Her eyes are open! "Kate! Oh thank God." Castle brought her hand up to his lips, giving her fingers a quick kiss.
She smiled. "Did you mean it?"
Castle frowned again, "What?"
"You said you loved me, right? Or did I dream it cause if I did don't worry…"
He smiled. "I did, yes. And I meant every word." He kissed her hand again. "I'll go get a nurse, stay here." She nodded and he stood ready to go.
"Castle," She called as he was at the door. He turned to look at her and she smiled, "I love you too. And thank you."
They smiled at each other as Kate raised an eyebrow. "Nurse Castle."
"Right. Be back in a second."
