A "Zakaru" ficlet for Jediempress...sort of a happy-holidays and thank-you-for-getting-me-into-this-pairing kind of thing, I think. I hope. I'm still kind of feeling out these two, so...

Leon growled, flinging an arm out in dismissal. "I'll see you later."

"Whatever." Zack waved him off, rolling his eyes. He turned a little as a short, familiar brunet came into his line of sight.

"Heh, that's Leon's line, y'know," Sora called out. His trademark smile faded as Leon stormed off, and he came to a halt before Zack, bright gaze pivoting from the other man's rapidly diminishing figure to the tall ex-SOLDIER. "You two...getting along okay?"

"Yeah, yeah. We're fine. Lee's just got to let off a bit of steam." Zack offered the boy an easy grin and shrugged.

"Oh, yeah. He usually keeps it all bottled up. That can't be good for him," Sora nodded sagely, rocking back on his heels. After a minute, he gaped. "Wait... 'Lee'? He lets you call him by a nickname?"

Zack's grin widened.

A few hours later...

"There you are," Leon grumbled after he rounded the corner into the alley. He swiftly grabbed Zack's arms and pinned him to the wall, eyes blazing.

"Hmph. Knew you'd come around," Zack smirked, even as Leon's grip on his wrists tightened. His knuckles (and the back of Zack's head) would surely be bruised in the morning. The sly smile only grew, and Leon's eyes narrowed.

"You..." He made a low, frustrated sound. "Whatever," he muttered, leaning to claim Zack's lips in a fierce, hungry kiss.

Zack made a low, encouraging sound in the back of his throat and relaxed against the wall, twisting his hands after a moment to test the brunet's reflexes. Sure enough, this earned him a full-body press against the chilly stone, arms now held down rather uncomfortably at his sides. Zack grinned as best he could against the other man's insistent mouth. Damn, Leon was fun when he was worked up. "Mm," he murmured, breaking the kiss after a few decidedly arousing minutes. He narrowed his eyes playfully before continuing to speak, parted lips brushing temptingly against Leon's with the formation of each word. "So...you over yourself yet?"

"M-me?" Leon sputtered. "You were the one who..." He cut himself off, glaring at his violet-eyed lover. "You're just instigating."

"Heh heh, you caught me. You're just easy to mess with." Zack winked, wriggling one hand out of the brunet's grasp and pulling him in for another deep kiss, bending their still-joined hands behind Leon's back to bring their bodies closer. Once Leon stopped protesting and was suitably distracted by the kiss and firm, pleasant embrace, he slowly and subtly shifted their positions until the gunblader's back was nearly where Zack's had been, at which point Leon became all too aware of his surroundings and abruptly pulled back.

"Oh, no, I don't think so."

Zack quickly found himself flat against the wall once more, and he hung his head and heaved a sigh in mock defeat. At Leon's half-hearted groan, he glanced up into steely blue eyes and grinned, brows raised slightly.

"Oh, don't give me that look. Shiva, you'd think..." Leon trailed off, shaking his head. "Come on. Let's go home."
