[A/N: Here goes my first songfic, hope you guys like it :) I cut the song up a little bit, not using the repeated parts in it just for the sake of the story :P

Friday night beneath the stars

"God, they're so pretty," she whispered, amazed by the beautiful stars in front of her.

"No where near as pretty as you," he whispered back in her ear. She looked away from the stars to find the most perfect boy lying beside her, not looking at the stars but looking at her, instead.

They just stayed there, lying on a blanket on the grass in his backyard, just staring at the stars and occasionally - at each other. No words needed here, just the peaceful sound of the starry night; nothing else is needed when they're side by side, together.

"Babe are you ok?" she asked worriedly.

"Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry about it babe," he replied stroking her cheek gently.

"Nate, I know you. Please tell me what's up," she responded, removing his hand from her cheek and holding it in her hands instead.

"I think my parents are really going to go through with the divorce." He looked down.

"Babe," she removed one of her hands from his and used it to lift up his chin, "its ok, I'm here for you, whatever pain you go through, I go through it too. You and me together 'till the end, okay?" she smiled tenderly at him.

He looked into her eyes and saw the sincerity in them and just simple hugged her; a hug that is worth a thousand words; a hug of gratitude and love.

"Who was that Alex?!" he asked her frustrated.

"He's just a friend Nate, will you chill out?!" she responded with a shaky voice.

"A 'friend' doesn't ask you out to the movies!" he practically yelled.

"I can't do this right now, please leave if you're not willing to even attempt to listen to me" She said with tears in her eyes.

He didn't say another word and just left the room. She quickly went to the door and slammed it shut.

"God, this jealousy of yours is just driving me crazy!" she yelled at the door with tears in her eyes. "Why can't you see that I only have eyes for you Nate Grey? That I'm only me when I'm with you?" she whispered to herself.

The next morning Alex woke up to a big teddy bear that was holding some red roses outside of her door, she smiled to herself and picked it up and took it inside of her room. She found the little card sticking out of the roses and read what it said: Babe, I'm so sorry for blowing up on you like that last night; it's just the idea of you ever leaving me for another guy would just kill me. I love you and have complete faith in you; I swear to never doubt you again, please forgive me, xoxo – Nate.

She quickly went to her dresser, grabbed her cell phone and dialed Nate's number.

"Nate I'm scared." She grabbed her boyfriends hand tightly.

"Its ok babe, I'm positive that you got in," he said soothingly.

"But how do you know? Oh Nate if I don't get into this University I just don't know what I'll do!" she sighed, terrified to open the little white envelop that was in her shaking hands.

"Alex, breathe. You're a perfect shoe-in for UCLA; you have perfect grades and did numerous after school activities and charity work, of course you got in!" he assured her.

"My biggest fear is that I don't get to go to the same college as my own boyfriend," she whispered with tears in her eyes.

"Oh Alex, regardless if I got in I would turn down UCLA in a heartbeat for you, I could never bear being away from you – I couldn't possibly live without you Alex Russo. And trust me, please; I just know you got in, no worries babe." He kissed her gently before she looked down and opened the envelop that only held an acceptance letter.

"Sure, I don't mind," she smiled politely when the man asked her to move to the other side of the table. He only smiled at himself knowing that she hated the right side of the table where all the salts where located, her being a sensitive smeller and all. But she could never be impolite and say no to anyone; she always has been a people pleaser. No one could possibly know her better then he could.

"Babe can I tell you something?" he asked her while he hugged her from behind, his arms around her thin waist.

"Of course babe, anything." She replied curiously.

"This is probably really cheesy but, I just feel that I'm only me when I'm with you." He whispered the last part in her ear.

She quickly turned around in his arms and smiled.

"You wanna know something too? That's exactly how I feel." He smiled down at her and bent down and laid a gentle, yet passionate kiss on her full, rosy lips, sealing their newly shared secret with each other forever.
