Prologue:

Small fair skin hands held a white envelope coming from her fiance's army base. She hadn't seen him for 15 months which is a year and 3 months. It had been hard for both of them with each second feeling like a whole year.

She didn't often get news about him since sending letters were allowed just once a month or so along with brief conversations with him through the phone.

Unfortunately, the letters that Sasuke sent her weren't clear enough. His writing was sloppy and cracky from what she guessed were from stress of the war and the paper had ink smeared with smudges that covered some of the words he had writen.

Talking through the phone wasn't any better except for the fact that she had the chance to hear the sound of his voice again. As much as being able to speak to him was nice, the communication was terrible. The conversations were always brief. Always short, mainly sharing "I love you","I miss you" , "cant wait to see you" and " stay safe ". The few minutes they were allowed to talk to each other weren't enough to keep up. But the love they held for each other in hope to see their love again kep them alive.

His usual low voice was raspy through the phone and she could sometimes hear him sob in hope to some day get back to her alive.

Speaking to him made her feel secure for that short amount until he had to hang up, making her pop back into reality that she was all alone for God knows how much more time.

Her eyes bore on the envelope in her shaking hands.

Her long delicate fingers slid under the lid of it to reveal the letter.

The writing didn't belong to her beloved.

Unlike him, it was neat and clear.

" Dear Miss Hyuuga,

I have got bad news concerning your fiance sargent Sasuke Uchiha, who died yesterday night on the battlefield after an ambush. My dearest apologies and regards. "
