Looking up at the stars was a small blue furred Akita Kishu mix puppy named Weed. He had traveled with a three legged Spanish Setter, an English Setter, and a Golden Retriever puppy in search of his father. He had never known his father, due to the fact that his mother told him that he was traveling. However, he also heard from his now deceased mother that he was very strong and brave, but that he also wielded a kind heart as well.

The Akita pup sat down on his haunches, staring up at the starry night. He felt the cool, calm breeze that blew into his sky colored fur. He saw the stars that sparkled like diamonds in the sky. He heard the light breathing of his nearby friends. Then again, he also heard the sound of footsteps coming past him. His nose detected an unfamiliar scent.

Weed looked to his left and saw a large grey wolf walking past him. The pup stared at the large "x" scar at the wolf's chest. He could feel a dangerous, yet saddened aura around the wolf. He walked behind the large canine. "Excuse me."

The wolf turned around with annoyed glare and soon saw the blue Akita Kishu mix walking behind him. He bared his fangs and growled a threat. "Get away, mutt."

Weed stopped confused. He only wanted to talk to this strange wolf out of friendliness. Yet, the wolf didn't want any. However, Weed saw the ice cold feeling of betrayal in the wolf's eyes. He decided to try again. "Who are you, mister?"

The wolf only scoffed. "Just get lost. I don't have time to waste with a mutt like you."

Weed only came closer, causing the wolf to raise his tail in aggression. "Are you okay? Are you lost? Do you want to come with my friends? We'll give you a place to rest for the while."

The wolf chuckled. "Yeah right," he scoffed. "The only way I'll ever befriend a mutt like you is if you were dead."

Weed shook his head. "You don't have to be alone. You can–"

The wolf finally grabbed the Akita pup in his mouth and pinned him down with a paw. "Look, brat," he snarled through white fangs, "I don't need any company. You want to go to sleep with your pack of mutts, that's fine with me. But I'm not hanging around a bunch of freaks like you."

The wolf released the blue Akita pup and finally stared down at him. "Don't get in my way again," he warned, before walking off into the forest.

Weed stared on as the wolf walked. He felt that the wolf really did need some friend and was just too cold to see it. Finally agreeing with the wolf's decision, he walked back over to the shack where his friends were and slept.

The wolf, whose name was Tsume, thought about what happened. Deep down inside, he felt a pang of guilt. He knew that the pup was offering him kindness and he turned it away with a cold stare. He just walked off without saying a word. He realized he did need some company.

However, another side told him that the company he would be having would be with dogs. There was no way that a wolf would even look at a dog. Then again, he knew that somewhere deep down inside he wanted to be with the pup. He was only a kid after all.

Ignoring the thoughts, Tsume leaped away with a single bound, leaving no evidence of him behind except for his scent.
