"Too Weak To Fight."

A Merlin Oneshot.

Song: Numb by Linkin Park.

The Fomorrah that was Merlin let a slow, wicked smile curve across his face.

Carelessly, It reached, deep into the golden soul of this boy and grasped at the magic therein, clawing and shredding it as it forced the magic to obey it's dark will, lighting the boy's eyes with a fiery light.

The Knight and the King riding towards them immediately stopped, their eyes wide as they stared at the Fomorrah's stolen body covered in mud, now glowing brilliantly by the wild, furious magic coursing through his veins, magic that was raging against the poison that was the Fomorrah.

But the Fomorrah knew rage, knew how to lead it down a new path, direct it to its own purpose; so the Fomorrah took the rage and turned it towards the King.

The King, who always took the boy for granted, punished him for deeds not his doing, insulted him and called him a coward when all he did was spend his days risking life and limb for the ungrateful prat.

The anger only grew and grew when the Fomorrah delved into the boy's memories, to a girl named Freya, and forced the boy's magic to watch as his wife—for surely they equaled such standing, both willing to sacrifice their lives and livelihood for each other—died in his arms, over and over and over again, all because of King Arthur Pendragon.

"Merlin…?" The Knight said slowly, hesitantly drawing his sword from its sheath as he analyzed the situation—

A lazy flick of the hand sent the Knight flying through the air, sword spinning out of his reach as the poisoned magic lashed out at him. With a hollow thud the man hit the ground hard, and moved no more.

"Merlin! What are you—?"

The Fomorrah made a horizontal movement with his hands, thumb and forefinger held together as he smirked at the King, who's eyes widened when he found he could not open his mouth to speak further.

Magically-gold eyes burned black as the Fomorrah finally spoke, it's voice rasping and nightmarish.

"Merlin isn't here right now."

AN: Sorry for the angst :P I just kept seeing those pictures of Merlin telling Leon he's going to kill Arthur, and Leon just laughs it off, and everyone saying that Merlin must have been fighting the Fomorrah the entire time because he could have destroyed all of Camelot if he wanted to, and certainly would not have told anyone of his plan before hand, even jokingly. So, I wrote this as a "What if"—specifically, "What if Merlin couldn't fight the Fomorrah?"
