Dance With Me

This is the result of some serious procrastination, and is my first Glee fic, so be nice.

Disclaimer: If I owned Glee, you'd have watched this scene already.

"Well what do we do now?" Finn sighs, stepping outside where any plans of leaving the house are immediately being washed away with the cascade of rain thundering on the street. Leaning against the door frame, he glances at Kurt who has a sly "I've got a plan but I don't think you're gonna like it" smirk on his face. "What?"

Kurt bites his lip, eyes sparkling mischievously before running down the steps and into the rain. He turns and grins at Finn, who stands and stares, eyebrows raised, in utter bemusement.

"Care to join me?" He shouts, straining to be heard over the constant pounding of rain on the street.

"Are you crazy? I'll get soaked!" Finn retorts, folding his arms and staying under the shelter of the porch.

"Look, Hudson. I've just ruined a perfectly decent pair of faux suede Italian loafers for you," seeing Finn's blank stare, he adds "They're Alexander McQueen!" Another blank stare. "Why is it I always have to do everything myself?" Kurt mutters under his breath, before running back to the porch, grabbing Finn's hand and pulling him down the steps.

"Kurt! What the hell? Oh God, it's freezing! I'm getting soaked!" he winces as cold water drips down his neck.

"Whoops, my bad," Kurt giggles, bringing his hands up to Finn's neck, leaning his forehead against the taller boy's. Finn groans, gives up trying to protect himself from the downpour and brings his hands to rest on the soprano's hips, pulling him closer.

"So care to explain why we're outside in the biggest storm to hit Lima in five years?" Finn whines, shivering slightly.

"Because now I have an excuse to shower with you," Kurt smiles.

"You could have just asked."

"But you have to admit it's more fun this way."

"More cold this way, you mean."

"Jeez Hudson, do you ever stop moaning?" Kurt teases. Finn just glares in response, brown eyes narrowing beneath a lopsided curtain of chestnut hair. They stand like this, drawing warmth from each other as the rain continues to fall relentlessly.

"Dance with me?" Finn isn't sure if he's heard at first, glancing down at the head on his chest.

"Sorry?" Kurt lifts his head, blues meeting browns, and asks again.

"Dance with me? Please?"

"Why?"

"Life's not about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain," he replies quietly, eyes sparkling again. Despite wanting nothing more than to escape to the warmth of Kurt's basement, he doesn't see how he could ever fail to fall in love with those eyes. They start to sway in unison, as if to a song only they can here. For once it's just them, their dance and the rain and neither of them want it to end.

Kurt's head is still on Finn's shoulder and they're still dancing, although the song's finished and there's no more rain. Sighing happily, Finn laces his fingers delicately through Kurt's hair, gently kissing his forehead.

"Now how about that shower you promised?"
