Hi Readers! This is my first story (one-shot) for Maximum Ride. This is based off the manga books, and I have not been reading them for long, so please be nice. This is a free verse poem, and it is not supposed to rhyme! This is Ari's perspective.
Will I always be a shadow to you?
Am I the forgotten son?
Did you on purposely leave me in the dust?
Why did I fall out of favour?
Why did I not please you?
What is so special about winged humans that I can be ignored?
Since when does a science experiment take a father's heart away from a son?
I have become the experiment, I am now a creature of science, and yet, you are still not pleased with me.
What is so special about them all?
Why was I replaced?
When will you look away from these creatures and see your son?
What father does not give his son love, but glows when a stranger does something right?
They are not your daughters!
They are not your sons!
And yet here I stand, all alone.
Watching these mutants go.
They're very presence torments me!
Your affection to them makes me sick!
I long for the day when they lie on the ground
Never breathing again
You will be mad at first, I know
But then, you stubborn old man
Will you love me?
