Bella:
"Swan."
"Cullen."
"How are you?" asks Edward conversationally.
I shake my head. "You should know. You saw me this morning before you left for work, didn't you?"
He did. "Yes. Sorry that I left you in bed but I had an important meeting", he says.
"I guessed so."
There is an awkward silence.
"So Jacob found out why I left him", I say uncomfortably.
"He believes Alice Brandon?" Ms. Brandon is Edward's secretary. She's the only one who knew about our secret relationship and she blabbed to my ex-boyfriend. She's such a gossip.
"Kind of."
"Oh well. We've kept this in the dark for too long already."
"You think it's time I tell people I'm dating Edward Evil Cullen?" I exclaim
"Of course. Why not?" he rolls his eyes. "By the way, my middle isn't evil, it's Anthony."
"I don't care what it is! My father hates you. You're the CEO of my father and ex-boyfriend's rival company."
"Is that a problem?" he asks.
"A very big problem", I say. "Daddy doesn't wan me anywhere near you."
"That's not fair", he replies.
"Life ain't fair."
"So what do we do?" he sighs.
"I dunno."

"Isabella", he says.
"What is it?" I ask in annoyance.
"Go on a proper date with me."
"People will see."
"So? It doesn't matter to me. I want everyone to know you're my girlfriend."
I snort. "No one will approve."
"Their opinions don't matter." He sounds so sincere.
"They do."
"Only to you."
"And you too", I say.
"Nope. Not all", he says. "I don't care a shit what anyone thinks. I want to be with you. I'm tired of hiding."
"You're older than me."
It's his turn to snort. "By seven years."
"I'm nineteen and you're twenty six."
"That's only age."
"Why are you doing this?" I ask.
"I love you Isabella. I want you."
"I'm yours. You know that."
"I do but I want everyone else to know you're mine. Love goes beyond age." He sounds so hopeful.
I throw my arms around his neck. "Are you sure?" I say. "Once we go public, there's no going back."
"How can you even I ask that?"
"Just wanted to be sure."
He kisses me slowly. "This is going to be tough..."
Panic rises in my chest. Why is he backing off?
"But we're gonna manage", he continues. "Cause love goes beyond age."
