I didn't like him at first sight. I mea, yeah, I thought he was cute, any girl would. With his brown hair hat flopped over his forehead and the deep brown eyes that seemed to see you for who you really are and not the bullcrap. He was a hockey player and I was sure he could have any girl he wanted, any girl but Bianca apparently, but I didn't think of him as a loser when I heard that had happened. I thought of him as brave enough to do it.
Maybe he did it for the wrong reasons, but everyone wants to fit in,and we do desperate things to do it. But, I don't judge him for that. He is the bravest person I know, I admired him.
When he asked me to hang out, I was shocked. I thought he would never think of me in that way, not after what me and Tristan did to him and after he yelled at me in the cafe. When he apologized though, I just couldn't stay mad at him for snapping.
Our first date wasn't the best, not all first dates are, but it wasn't anything either of us did. It was my sister,Katie, who made it awkward. She insisted she tag along. She didn't really trust any hockey player, even Cam. We felt like we couldn't really get to know each other that way, and I think that was the way Katie wanted it.
We got past that. I told my sister she would have to accept my relationship with Cam, that he wasn't going anywhere. It took her awhile, but eventually she accepted it enough not to spy on all of our dates.
We have our up and downs, like any relationship. Not having enough time to spend with each other what with his hockey and my band, but we make time. Even if it is just to...
"Hey what are you writing?" I look up from my laptop to see Cam walking up to the bench I am sitting in in the hallway. He sits next to me and slings an arm over my shoulder, and as I lean into him I explain.
"Our english assignment was to write three pages on our three favorite people in the world and our relationship with them."
He smiles. "And who would those three people be?"
"Well, I have Katie, my mom and Bobo the clown from the sixth birthday party." When he looks confused, I start laughing. "Kidding. The third would be you." I smile widely when I say this. He smiles back at me and leans down to kiss me when..."Hey, Maya! Aren't you supossed to be working on something?" Katie says to me as she walks past, glaring at Cam.
Cam and I look at each other a smile. She's always doing that, we've gotten used to it, but that doesn't mean we listen to what she says.
When she rounds the corner, Cam quickly leans down to kiss me. It didn't go as quickly though when I wrapped my arms around his arms. When the warning bell rang for us to start getting to class, we pulled back. He stood up, helped me pack up then grabbed my hand as we started to walk toward french.
Yes, he was one of my very favorite people.
I know this is really short, but I just felt the need to write something after Thursday's episode. Wasn't that last scene with Cam and Maya just so adorable? I squealed and watched it twice! Can't wait till next Wednesday, it's their date!
