In February of 2558, the UNSC Infinity sent countless personnel to the Forerunner planet of Requiem to secure research bases and uncover the secrets of the Forerunners themselves. Fireteam Woodlands has been sent to the desert location classified as Quarry to find any suspicious covenant or promethean activity in the area.

This wasn't their first mission together. They had been on numerous operations on and around the galaxy. But not here, not Requiem. Fireteam Woodlands was a SPARTAN-IV team consisting of five members: Jack, Jay, Robert, Tori, and James, and their SPARTAN armor colors all matched up to be sage and brown. Each had specific roles in the team: Jack as the leader, Jay as the technician, Robert as the driver/pilot, Tori as the sniper, and James as the Close Quarters Specialist. They all had come from different backgrounds as well: Jack and Jay were previously both SPARTAN-III Headhunters, Robert was an ODST, Tori was a survivor of a glassed planet, and James, well, he was basically a rookie, as his only major battle being the Fall of Reach when he was a Marine. But they were all good enough to be SPARTANs, and they all got on good terms with one another.

This, is Fireteam Woodlands.

"I don't get it."

"Don't get what Robert?" James responded to Robert's out-of-the-blue question. "I don't understand why command sent US out here to do recon. We should be out with the other spartans shooting down Covie airships and finding Forerunner tech, not some stupid recon." Robert was an arrogant one, always asking questions that had already been answered for him numerous times. "Command wants us to summarize the remains of Covenant troops left here by Fireteam Crimson." Jack answered. "Then that should be Crimson's responsibility, not ours. Especially if we've been here for 5 hours and nothing has happened." Robert said as he put his GEN 2 OPERATOR helmet on. Jay had been woken up from his rest by the discussion and decided to join in, "Hey, it's your turn now, by the way.". "Shut up" Robert said tiredly as he took Tori's place on the SRS99-S5 AM (Sniper Rifle). Jay smiled, as he knew Robert wouldn't be like this for long….
