Title: Patience

Character/Pairing: Hanabi, Sanae

A/N: Not too happy with how this one ended. :/

Summary: Sanae had learned patience over the years. It was especially useful when her girlfriend was an hour late.

Sanae had learned many things since she had graduated. Classes could be skipped, tests were only markers, there was no point in stressing out over tiny things.

Patience.

That last one was very important. Especially right now as she stood in front of the train station, her foot tapping the ground quickly. Her girlfriend was an hour late and if Sanae didn't have patience, she'd probably have left already.

Actually, she still wouldn't have, but honesty was something she was still working on.

A bobbed head swirled around as the latest batch of travellers left the station, turning left and right rapidly. Sanae smiled, it was about time.

Hanabi smiled sheepishly when she spotted her, her hands quickly clasping in front of her. "Sorry! I overslept and missed—"

"It's fine." Sanae waved off the apology, already guessing what happened. "Just warn me next time."

"I will." Hanabi smiled cheerfully, donning her sunhat. It looked like it was going to be another hot summer day. Suddenly she wished she had remembered her baseball cap.

Oh well, at least they'd spend most of the day indoors. They were shopping today after all.

"You look cute," Sanae complimented casually. At least, she hoped it looked casual. Hanabi flushed lightly, ducking her head slightly with a mumbled thanks.

Good, good. Sanae breathed out slowly, pleased with herself. It was a little tricky, dating Hanabi. Dating an ex—could she even call her that? They hadn't dated, not really, back in highschool.

Could she even call it a relationship? Sanae remembered doing all the pushing, practically shoving Hanabi into a corner. She had dragged her friend around, pulling her behind her as she ran from one relationship point to the next.

She pinched her leg, shaking her head. That had been then, this was now. She had changed, she wouldn't make the same mistakes again.

Hanabi reached out, grabbing Sanae's hand as they walked down the street. She swallowed, looking away.

Sanae had learned patience. Wisdom. Consideration. Confidence.

No, she wouldn't mess up this time. She tightened her grip on Hanabi's hand.

This time, they'd walk together.
