A/N: This fluffy little Edwin/Lizzie oneshot made its way into my head last night and I couldn't resist. Some of my favorite scenes in the whole show are when Lizzie and Edwin talk in the games closet which happens in The Fall and House Of Games. Hope you like! Please review.
Saving Memories
"No! Dad, you can't tear down the games closet! You just can't!"
Lizzie and I were both trying to convince Dad and Nora that they couldn't touch the games closet in their redesign of the upstairs since Derek and Casey had moved out a couple of years ago. They couldn't seem to understand what the big deal was.
"It's just a closet we never set foot in anymore. What's the problem?" Dad asked.
"George, that closet has sentimental value. If you rip it out you could potentially be taking away a story for my children and grandchildren!"
"Mine too!"
"Why, guys? It's a closet, not a symbol."
"It is symbolic. It symbolizes mine and Lizzie's whole relationship!"
"What are you talking about? I apologize for repeating myself, but it is just a closet."
"No, George, it isn't just a closet."
I began to tell dad why he couldn't tear down the games closet.
"Hey Liz. So I see you've dragged me in here once again. How is it that all of Derek and Casey's plots, fights, and issues end up with us talking in the games closet? This has been going on ever since that whole klutzilla thing. But they can't be fighting now. They're moving their stuff for college."
"They aren't fighting. For the first time this isn't about them. Well, I guess it's sort of about them because with them traipsing around the house getting their stuff together, it's the only place I can talk to you in private. But this is about you and me. Remember what you told me last week?"
"That I like you? That I care about you?"
"Yeah. Well, I feel the same way about you."
Then her lips were on mine. It was the most special moment in our relationship. We've been together ever since.
It's been more than two years since that day, but it seems like yesterday in my mind.
"So you see, Dad, you can't tear down the games closet. That's where everything changed. That's where Lizzie and I first kissed. That was the best day of my life."
"Okay, kids. I understand it now. I'll talk to the architect. Tell him he can't touch the games closet."
"That's all we ask. Thanks George."
