The Imprisoning War
Legend
The legends had been forgotten, passed into myth and whispered heresy, for centuries. But then, those accursed scrolls were found in the ruins of some long dead temple. They told of a great relic, left behind by the old goddesses, that could grant the wish of anyone who obtained it. This Golden Power, an omniscient and ineffable artefact, lay hidden in what was known as the Sacred Realm, protected for so long. Greed and lust for this wish granting relic controlled the hearts of the people, and threatened the stability of the kingdom. Civil war and slaughter covered the land in blood. Brother fought brother, daughter killed mother. But my father, with the help of his three most loyal generals, quelled the violence through a campaign that would cut short his life, but extend the prosperity of the lands and stop the war. He left behind a legacy of peace, but died young. Now I am sole ruler of these lands.
These lands. For a while they were a verdant paradise, a peaceful haven for the races that once were enemies, but became friends. The rock chewers, the water-dwellers and even the shadow people that lived among the dunes in the vast deserts to the south. We were at peace. United. These once beautiful lands my father called Hyrule.
Then he came.
A dark master of the Gerudo, who somehow deciphered the clues in the old scrolls and at last found a portal to the Sacred Realm. He took the Golden Power for himself, and made his most foul wish. Evil poured forth from the open portal, drowning our lands in darkness and corrupting the hearts of the people. Once again war tore us apart. The seven wise men, long the advisers to the throne of Hyrule, are scattered, trying desperately to turn the tide. But it is hopeless.
But, hope may not be all lost. A young boy, clad in green, was mentioned in the scrolls as a hero of the land. His lineage is said to be destined for greatness, to be the hero of the people, and even a master of time itself. He is the one who would wield an ancient weapon known as the Evil's Bane. With it, he would awaken the spirits of the King's three Generals, and give the Seven Wise Men enough time to seal away the Dark King in his own realm.
This is our most desperate hour, and the boy clad in green is our last hope. His courage will lead the way. But, he won't be going alone. To defeat the King of Evil, he will need the wisdom of ages. He will need me. Zelda.
