I never liked him, never truly trusted him either. My crew always came first, how could this kid think otherwise. I was one of them cast out on the streets to find a way to live in the cworded alleys of Rotterdam. They were my "flock" as the nuns from the church said about the people of Jesus. If we were part of the flock of Jesus, we did not look like it or were treated like. My gang was most important in my view, I needed to be they're mother, they are queen. How could some little cocky kid expect me to consent to a plan that could possibly endanger our already improvised state?

He stood there; he looked like he was going to be blown away by a simple wind. I winched slightly at the sight of him, but I had so many to care for already. He was so emaciated that I could see his ribs as I hid from the hiding place as the younger ones slept in safety. He looked up from his unsteady looking stager; he looked straight at me with intelligent eyes. This kid was doubtlessly smart, he was a stray but you could tell that he knew what was happening around him. I silently moved out past the hiding place, giving a whistle to Sergeant to take my spot.

" Hey, You! What are you doing get lost?" I said in my crew leader commanding voice. " Well! There nothing here, Pipsqueak!"

" You know there is a better way to get food…" He replied calmly.

" What did you say? You think you are smart or something. You cannot even feed your self. Look at you your so small, your not even a bean." I replied with attitude. I knew this little bean would do something along these lines, it 'cause of those smart eyes.

" You're Poke, right? I have a plan to get you protection and food for your crew." He said moving a little closer. He had a stern face on, he looked about 3 but his speech and serisous made him seem like an adult. Many kids in Rotterdam ended like that if they survived past 5 years of poverty.
