Author's note: it is nothing special, just a mission i had to accomplish on spyland on LJ. The mission was this "Your task is to write an essay entitled "When I Grow Up" from the perspective of a spy-related character. The character you choose must be an adult (over 18ish, for the purposes of this challenge), but you'll write the essay from their perspective in the past, when they were a child. Entries must be at least 200 words. You may only write one for points". So i thought of posting it here as well.:)
When I grow up.
"When I grow up, I want to become a spy. Fighting the bad guys, saving the good ones, helping my country… that is what I'd love to do when I grow up. Ever since I was little, I've always loved watching spy movies when I was supposed to be asleep. I know my family and friends wouldn't agree but I really want to do this and, anyway, I'm not supposed to tell them about my job. Sometimes ago I watched this amazing movie where the main character was a spy and she had a different alias for every mission, she was so strong and badass that I do hope I'll look like her in the future. I've read somewhere that becoming a spy isn't as easy as it seems and that there's a lot of training but I'm not scared: I'll learn to shoot, I'll learn to fight, I'll learn all the languages in the world. I'll do whatever it takes to protect my country. I'm not scared, you know? Most of the kids I know want to become lawyers, doctors, actors, singers, teachers and I have this friend who wants to become a cop but when I suggested him to become a spy, he looked at me in a strange way, like I was crazy or something. Thing is, that I want to serve and protect the United States of America and that's why I'm gonna become a freaking spy in the future." Sydney Bristow put down her black pen and gave the teacher her essay for the assignment "What I'd like to do when I grow up".
