It had always been someone.

It had always been Nate

Or it had always been chuck

But never would she think the one she would always love would be lonely Dan Humphrey from Brooklyn.

Blair was always too caught up in her own potential fairytales to see what was right in front of her. She didn't need someone from a respectable family, she didn't need one of the Manhattan's elite and she didn't need someone that had good dress sense.

All Blair Waldorf needed was someone that was there for her someone that would care for, someone that would never intentionally hurt her... someone that truly loved her.

When no one else was, Dan Humphrey was there for her, he was the one that helped her get over the great Chuck Bass, he was her go to guy when everything in her perfect world crumbled and fell apart. And he was always there for her no matter what she done, who she had hurt or who hurt her.

They would stay up all night talking, about the craziness of the upper east side, the pressure of their parents and ex's the just can't seem to move on from.

When Eleanor Waldorf died Dan Humphrey held her in his arms all night, she was shaking and crying the whole night long. His shirt was damp from her tears, but he didn't mind, because he was Dan Humphrey and no matter what he would always be there for her, and he would always love her, even if she didn't know that.

"I love you" he whispered softly in her ear as she was curled up on his bed with him.

"I know," she replied still crying.

"I just thought you should know," he whispered.

"I've always known," she remarked lifting her head of his wet chest, "I love you too." She kissed him lightly on his lips.

"I know," he said as she rested her head against his chest again.

He kissed her temple, he would always be there for her because he was Dan Humphrey and he would always love her just as much, if not more than she loved him.
